The whispering woods was a sacred place in the Lycan forest which served as the graveyard for unbounded wolves. Whenever a wolf dies, his wolf does not die with him, they retire to the whispering woods, roaming about until a Wolfless wolf comes to lay claim to one of them.
While some werewolves had their wolves born to them, some usually had to look for wolves in the whispering woods. While some of these wolves usually found boundless wolves to connect with, some just came to look for their missing wolf. It also happens that a person can get separated from his wolf at birth, due to some circumstances
