When the bell rang, I quickly gathered my things and sprinted out of the classroom as I had somewhere very important to be—and I did: the library.  It was lunchtime, but I had no desire to eat or face the lunchtime crowd, especially since Libby and Ben would both be there.  I zigzagged through the crowd of students, trying to keep a safe distance between Ben and me, and I was succeeding.  When I finally made it to the library, I quickly made a beeline for the shelves of books so I could hide within their walls.  Having successfully lost Ben, I sighed with relief. Here I was half-way through the school day, and I hadn’t had to face Libby or Ben.  This day was turning out better than I had planned it.  It’s about damn time something went my way.
