Around this time, I began shopping for a prom dress.  My mother spent hours with me as I tried on dresses.  She was very supportive and dutifully told me I looked beautiful in each one.  I finally settled on a white organza dress with black lace flowers on the bodice. A portion of the lace flowers extended over one of my shoulders, creating a one-shoulder look.  The bodice was a fitted corset, and I loved that the tighter it was tied, the more it held in my chub.  I felt like a princess in my prom dress.  Weeks after purchasing my prom dress, I realized that with the weight I was still losing, my dress was becoming too loose on me. So my mother had to go on a mission to find a seamstress who could quickly take my dress in with only a week’s notice. I was swimming in my dress even though
