I walked into the dining chamber, where Mama was sat with Queen Sanaz and Queen Moriel.
"Welcome, my son. How is our Queen?"
I sighed.
"She sleeps now, Mama. I am grateful for the breakfast you sent."
The sun was at its zenith and I could hear my men walking past the palace to go to the kitchens for food after their arduous training session.
"Do not even think of joining them for training, Eli. You will need your strength to break her heat," Mama said, interrupting my thoughts. "You haven't shifted for many nights, your strength will be lower than usual."
