"I knew as soon as he walked out of the room that I would be with child. And so was Sanaz."
"So he never lay with her again?"
Mama Tasmina shook her head.
"He consummated his marriage with Cassia and Moriel at my insistence. But there is a reason they all only have one child..."
"... and you have four." I finished.
Mama Tasmina nodded.
"Sanaz and I actually became great friends during our pregnancies. My mystic powers were dulled by my pregnancy and I had truly believed that Sanaz would give birth first. I told her as much, I prayed for it in fact. On the morning of Eli's day of birth, I prayed to the High Goddess to give me more time. To please send Sanaz into labour before me. But Eli was stubborn."
