Guardian's Comfort
Adrian found Aria in the hospital chapel, her sobs echoing in the empty space after the doctors announced Sophia's lung infection and Sarah's dropping vitals. Viktor had taken their older children to get food, trying to maintain some normalcy despite their worry. He felt crushed his Luna was so upset and sobbing loudly.
"They were doing so well," Aria whispered as Adrian sat beside her. "Getting stronger and now..." She was a mess and all he could do was offer silent comfort.
"Now they're showing us they're fighters," Adrian said softly, pulling her into a protective embrace. "Like their mother. Like their whole family." He stroked her hair as he held her letting her sob in his chest. Her tiny fingers clutching his shirt as she felt helpless and scared.
