They all startled at Kate’s shout, except for a raven that had landed atop a cow’s back and was eyeing her calmly. And Sam who was never surprised by anything.
“The line is in the sand. Here! Now! Paul, Rikka needs computing power. Call Roderick St. James, wave a big check at him and get her what she needs.”
Paul nodded.
“Now, Paul.”
“Oh, right,” he started patting his pockets.
Rikka pulled his phone out of her back pocket and handed it to Paul.
Kate held out her hand, Rikka passed over Kate’s own phone as well.
“Sam, you’re the only pilot among us. Take that R-22 helo that’s still parked over there and deliver Rikka to the Isle of Man. I’m trusting you to make sure she stays safe. I have no idea what’s coming over the horizon once you’re clear of the Secret S
