  Liam nodded, but the shadow of rebellion in his eyes just riled Ethan. He hated the way he was now carrying himself with Ayla; that she could take off with him at the drop of a hat. But this was no time for acting on feelings, nothing was clear. They had a bigger problem, and he had to focus.   Grayson was back. He breathed raspily, but he looked resolute. "They have put out the patrols, but if this is an assault by the Moon Shadow Pack, we are in dire need of manpower."   Ethan simply nodded, the strategies already working through his mind. "I'll call in some of the surrounding pack enforcements; we can't be caught off guard without safeguards."   "I'll call my source," came Liam's reply, as he already pulled out his phone. "See if he's got any idea what the pack is all brewing up."
