Jade grab her keys and mobile phone she need to calm down after telling her stuff that she was headed to lunch she walk to the nearby parking garage to retrieve her car. Somedays her routine had no spark to shake up her nerves, then there were days like his that constantly had their gritting her teeth one-by-one a race car driver his younger brother and the sleazy sales representative had came through like back-to-back microburst throwing up her day with their unique turbulence. "What was next ,or "Who was next? Now that the question had been thrown out there she feared that it might be answered in a way that would leave her ready to pull out her hair. Behind the wheel with nowhere in mind Jade shifted gears with the engine and headed for the back roads that wound a curvy route through the farms. Being responsible was 99% of her mindset some days like this one the 1% of her deepest wishes had to surface like steam out of a pressure release valve. She dreams of escape from everything and everyone didn't mean that she didn't want to return just that she wanted to push a pause button on her life and when she was ready she would push resume. With full gas tank the r&b radio station on blast mode with an oldie from the temptations of a glove compartment full of twizzlers Jade had all she needed for an hour long drive to nowhere. Her pause button allowed her to leave everything behind, people and their careers, people and their emotions, people and her responsibilities. Seoul South Korea, busted with all the trappings of a growing city, but outside the city there remained attached of the country that had not been developed. Family owned farms, still held fast against the push or need to sell, single lane roads marked the countryside, connecting one small town to the other. Instead of dealing with the traffic congestion crowded lunch spots and then of population. Jade sought the easy drive through the fields. Her schedule didn't allow the street often. But she didn't miss any opportunity to play hooky. A half-hour later her cell phone buzzed with an incoming text, it was the office time to push the button to resume her responsibilities, time to act like a grown-up. Jade turn down the music, close the convertible top and headed into the high way toward the city and her office. The schedule for the remainder of the day had one surgery and to follow up appointments since she'd invited jungkook over. She couldn't stay late. That meant she'd have to bring work home and put it in a few hours after jungkook left to get caught up. She rubbed her stiff neck it was going to be a long night. Jade turned off the fire under the various pots. she'd finish cooking dinner, a task that she enjoyed but really had time to do her father who likes his independence insisted on cooking for himself at his apartment. With her badgering he'd relented to having her cook for her weekly sunday visit with him. They'd usually catch up on the week's news more often of late did reminisce about earlier times. She found a way to sneak food into his fridge, by cooking larger quantities. He'd mindly protest up on the discovery of the various dishes stowed away in marked containers but by the end of the week the containers would be empty. Jade pretended that she didn't know the game her father might even sneak in a request for a certain mill rd serve as an innocent observation that he hadn't had a dish in a while and that he couldn't get it out of his thoughts. His brother enjoyed food. Jade had half joke that he should be a food reviewer. Jungkook had a knack for tasting and identifying the seasonings and spices in foods. He approached eating as if the meal was the end product of a science experiment and she had to break it down to save more and enjoy jade didn't mind mischief role in the culinary play. Jungkook paid for the heavy concepcion and sweet tooth with full figure exercise hard, ate lots and partied with a similar appetite. He was such a bundle of energy that anyone activity such as sitting for a meal, was too much commitment to that one task more than likely jungkook would eat, pour at her problems then run off but if she wanted jade to listen and played doctor to her love life then they do it by taking an hour to seats spend time together and enjoy a home cook meal. Jade pulled out the baked chicken and placed a covered dish in the center of the table the door bell sounded at the same time that she carried out the sweet potatoes souffle, she set it down and has to be wiped her fingers before running to the door. "Can't believe that you're actually on time"? did greeted her brother with a hug. 'That's Because Liza made sure I wasn't late" Jade pulled out of Jungkook's embrace. She didn't notice the young woman standing off to the side. SHE raised her hand and quickly lowered it when Jungkook glared at him. "Uhm... please come in. I'm Jade" Don't worry she's not staying," Jungkook retorted. "Oh," Jade didn't necessarily want an unexpected guests. However, she wasn't going to be rude even if Jungkook was going to act like a spoiled brat. "There's more than enough dinner , if you'd like to stay" "How is she going to stay if we're going to be talking about her"? Jungkook tossed out with casual indifference. "So this was the bad girl?" She must be getting mudled with Jungkook exes. She thought that the last girl was Jennie from the Busan South Korea. Not that Liza couldn't be from the Busan with her pale white skin, sandy brown, straight hair and slate grey eyes. But she wasn't to open her mouth and insert foot with a name mix up. Her best tactic at this point was to let Jungkook lead the way and try to cover any potholes her brother created with lack of diplomacy. Liza on the other hand stayed where she was in the living room. Unlike Jungkook's big dramatic flair with his arms and body language, she stay cool, her expression successfully blank. Young and stoic, Quite a combination , she thought. "Liza you can go" Jungkook flickered his hand. Liza nodded and left. Jade waited until the door clicked shut. "You are a piece of work" "What's the problem? I was up front. I told her that I needed to talk to my sister. You invited me. She wanted to make sure that it was you that I'm going to talk to. "Washed up." Jade finished bringing the food and dishes to the table. "I can't wait to hear this story. And what happened to Jennie?". Jennie? Jungkook stepped on into the half bath in the hallway. He shouted from the room. "She went back to Busan wanted me to go with her. Not happening." He came out drying his hand on his pants. "Plus I think she was something not good for me" Jade could only stare at his brothers cavalier manner towards his all relationship, even theirs. She'd like to think that Jungkook had suddenly became callous, but no, they have always been distinctly on different paths in the personal aspects of their lives. "And Liza?" Jungkook shrugged."She wants me to marry her". Jade dropped the carving knife with a clatter. She took a sit and waited for Jungkook to sit opposite to her. After a few seconds of silence , Jade bravely ask, "Why?" "Why would she wanted me to marry her?" Jungkook eyebrows c****d to match the incredulity of her sister's questions. Jade nodded. She felt that she had a stable job thriving if you take a look at his income statement.
