“Ugh, my head hurts.” Vivian muttered under her breath, her speech slurred, her gaze unsteady as she allowed Joe to escort her to the car. Vivian's body felt light. Usually, she did not like to drink because it clouded her mind, but today, she appreciated the release it provided her. Besides, there was no harm in letting go once in a while. “That was a nice party,” Vivian said slowly, a huge smile on her face. “Wasn’t it Joe?” Joe nodded in agreement, his expression impassive as he helped Vivian into the car. Joe had watched from the side while she and the rest of her company celebrated their acquisition. The celebration had started off as just a couple of drinks with some cake being shared around among the company’s employees, but by the evening, it had turned into a full-on party.
