I woke up to a splitting headache which hurt really bad. It felt like a marching band was performing in my head and my ears were ringing and I made this mental note to myself not to join the guys anymore when it comes to alcohol because they make me go all the way.
I glanced at the clock on the wall, trying to make out the blurry figures and realizing I was late, I jumped off the couch and accidentally knocked down a few bottles.
Somehow, my ruckus had woken Andrew and Junior. They looked funny, with drool at the side of Junior's face and flowers in Andrew's hair.
"What's going on?" Andrew frowned, while I rearranged the bottles and ran into the bathroom.
"I'm heading out," I called back, while shutting the door. "Help me get a towel."
5 minutes after I turned on the shower, I heard a knock on the door and I opened it slightly so that whoever it was could pass the towel through the small crack.
"Care to explain why though?" Andrew called out. He must have been the one to pass the towel.
"I have another job interview to get to." I heard him groan despite the noise of my running shower and I rolled my eyes.
I didn't spend much time in the shower and I stepped out with the towel wrapped tightly around my small frame. I wasn't going to allow what happened 3 months ago to happen again.
I stepped into my room and grabbed undies and wore a skirt and a cute blouse. It was like they were waiting for a good amount of time for me to dress up before they barged in.
"So what are you going to do if you don't get the job?" Junior asked me while I applied lotion onto my skin and sprayed myself with perfume. Perfume and lotions, anything deodorant, wasn't my thing but I really wanted to smell nice at my interview so I took the risk.
"I'll keep looking then." I replied swiftly. To be honest, I didn't know what I was going to do. I was very anxious about the end result but I wasn't going to let them know that. I was going to be a tough girl and get through this alone, I just had to use my disgust for Alhaji as inspiration.
"Dee," Andrew sighed "Why won't you let us help you?"
"Seriously, we've gone through this more than you've gone through your books."
"And we're not going to drop it either." Junior sat on my bed and I rolled my eyes, yet again. Damn, these boys make me roll my eyes more often these days and I feel I could see that back of my head at this point.
"I got into this myself, okay?" I walked out of the room, sandals in one hand and my small purse in the other and they followed me like I'm mother hen.
"Yeah, because you didn't allow us to help you in the beginning." Andrew shouted and I flinched. There was silence, none of us has heard or seen Andrew angry before and it was frightening to me. I could only nibble on my bottom lip as my heart raced while I thought of what to say without angering him further.
"Look Dee, we understand the whole 'I wanna do things on my own' and s**t but this is too much." Junior stepped forward, grabbing my shoulders. I looked up at him and shook my head. I didn't want to talk about this, I know anyone would take up their best friends' offer but that would only make me feel indebted to them.
"If we keep talking about this, I'm going to be late." I cracked a smile. It was fake but I don't think they noticed. They only nodded and gave me a hug.
"I'm sorry for yelling." Andrew whispered into my ear and I patted his back. Getting away from their embrace, I wore my sandals and stepped out of the house.
"Don't forget to lock up," I yelled over my shoulder. "And tidy up."
THIRD PERSON'S POV
Immediately Dee left, Andrew and Junior shared a look. They definitely weren't going to allow her do this on her own. Enough was enough.
"Wait, where's Grey?" Andrew looked around when he noticed that someone's missing. No one has noticed that he had left way early before any of them awoke.
"He left midnight, dumbass." Junior slapped the back of his head, "And you have flowers in your hair."
Andrew frowned and reached to remove whatever was tangled in his locks, "In my defense, my mental film cuts after I drink." Junior rolled his eyes, he believed that was a lie because you can't forget something just because you drank alcohol.
"The problem now is how we're going to find Alhaji." Andrew continued after they tidied up their mess and stepped out of the house. They didn't, of course, forget to lock up or Deola was going to throw a fit and break their heads if they didn't.
"That's not an issue," Junior played with his keys. "We know someone who can help."
"We do?"
"Yeah. Grey."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When they got to Grey's house, Andrew was still drilling Junior on how he knew Grey would know Alhaji. It was all confusing to him but then again, this wasn't his scene. Junior and Grey were the ones who dealt with issues concerning connections, seeing as they've once been delinquents.
Now he'd beginning to rethink about his friendship choices, but they've really helped him over the years.
They got to the front door and Andrew knocked but no one opened the door. They didn't hear anything or sense any movement. They assumed no one was home and turned to leave until a moan was heard.
A female's moan and the intense slapping of skin.
They shared a look and went around the house to the direction of Grey's room so that they could peep into the window and they saw a not so wonderful sight.
"There goes my eye virginity for the day." Andrew muttered under his breath while Junior pounded on the glass.
"You horny bastard!" Junior growled at the couple and they jumped away from each other, the female covering her naked body with the sheets.
Grey muttered an apology to the girl and got up, walked to the window and opened it. "What the f**k dude!"
"At least use the curtains if you're going to smash during the day," Andrew spat. "I'm so glad Dee didn't follow us."
Grey rubbed his face in frustration, he didn't want to think about Deola right now and Andrew just mentioned her name. "What do you want exactly?"
"We're here to ask something and we know you know the answer." Junior glanced at the girl, "Alone."
He sighed and went back to the girl, handing her her clothes and giving her a peck on the cheek and told her he had somewhere to be but she complained and pouted.
"But baby-"
"I'll make it up to you, okay?" He wasn't planning on seeing her after today, he doesn't sleep with the same girl more than two times. She has her bad habits too and he really needed to kick her out of his life, and probably change his number so that she wouldn't blow up his phone with nudes and needy texts.
She got up to get dressed while Andrew and Junior excused her and went back to the front door to wait. It felt like eternity until the door opened and the girl stepped out, fixing her bra and hair while passing their frames. Andrew didn't fail to mutter 'slut' as she passed. Even if she heard, he didn't care, not like she can defend herself anyways.
Grey followed after, already clothed, and he gestured for them to step in while he walked to the kitchen to get a drink.
"Your house smells like sex." Andrew told him when he came back from his trip.
"Haha. Like your virgin ass knows what s*x smells like." Grey rolled his eyes.
"Just because I've not had s*x doesn't mean I won't know how it smells like. Especially when I have a friend like you." He bit back.
Truth be told, Andrew has had s*x, but he didn't tell his friends about it. It was something he wanted to keep between her and his ex partner.
"We're here for something more important than your s*x lives." Junior cut in, crossing his legs to get comfortable on the couch.
"And what's that exactly?"
"I believe we both know what that is Grey, do you know where Alhaji is?"
Grey was quiet for a while and Andrew glanced from Junior to Grey repeatedly. After a while Grey asked, "Why do you want to meet him?"
"So you actually know about him!" Andrew gasped, this was shocking to his ears and he wondered when they have ever interacted with the pervert of a man.
"I do. We've been in a few situations back when I used to sell for him." Andrew wondered what it was Greg used to sell; was it weed, alcohol, ran errands for the man? Whatever it was, he didn't like the idea that somehow, Dee got tangled up with this same man.
"We want to help Dee, whether she likes it or not." Junior said and stood up, the other two following suit. "So are you taking us there or not?"
+++++
"I'm not entering with you guys," Grey said to the other two boys. "I'm not allowing him to know I brought you guys."
"Pussy." Andrew faked a cough, earning a glare from Grey.
"Thanks. We'll take it from here. Just wait here." Junior stepped out of the car and Andrew followed suit. Walking into the building, they greeted the receptionist they met at the front desk.
"We're here to see Alhaji." Andrew said and Junior only nodded. She eyed the two.
"Do you have an appointment?" She asked while clicking on her keyboard, waiting for them to voice out their schedule but they only answered in the negative.
"Then I'm sorry-"
"Ah, isn't it Deola's friends? Come." A voice came from behind them. They turned and they were face to face with Alhaji and no doubt, his two bodyguards behind him.
"Follow me." He turned and walked away in a fast pace. For someone his age, he seems strong enough, no wonder he's willing to f**k a teenage girl.
When they entered the office, he gestured for them to sit but they refused. "We didn't come to sit sir, how much does Dee owe you?" Junior placed his hands on the desk.
"For someone who seems like her close friend, you don't really know anything." He laughed.
"How much does she f*****g owe you?" Junior gritted through his teeth.
"Can you pay me in full?"
"At least we can help," Andrew cut in. "That's what human beings do."
"She owes me 200,000. I'll be disappointed if you're paying me in full." He chuckled.
"You-" Junior started but Andrew held him back. "It's not worth it." He said.
"We can only pay half right now." Andrew stepped forward and brought out his phone to make a quick transfer to his account after asking for the old man's account details. Junior also did the same, saying curses under his breath.
They had called their parents earlier and explained the whole Deola situation to them and their parents no doubt, wanted to help. They were very worried over that poor girl and were glad they found at least one thing they could do.
"Are you happy now? Leave her alone."
"Until she pays in full, I won't." Alhaji rubbed his hands together. "It was nice doing business with you though."
Andrew sensed the angry waves emitting from Junior and he didn't want them to get beaten up so he grabbed Junior's arm and dragged him out before he would start a fight. The last thing they needed was for them to sport bruises which would make Deola question what happened.
This needed to be a secret for now until she paid the other half.
