The New Boy in Town.

1365 Words
Now I have to face another hell. It was my first thought as I entered the gate of Lakeview High school. It's a local school in our small town, specifically named after our town. Yeah it is your typical school with jocks making crappy jokes here and there, Queen bee ordering around as if she own every person in here , bad boys getting involved into fights, pranksters going around pulling pranks into teachers and other students ,nerds walking around with books clutch to their chest and finally the outcasts sitting in the corner invisible for everyone eyes. Truth to be told I certainly don't care about all this. I'm my own persons and that's the most important thing that actually matters. As I pass the hallway of the school’s building I noted that it is empty as usual. I’m always the first one to arrive here at this hour.I like to come earlier than usual so that I could have some time in library by myself.I still have half hour to spare before people starts to fill in. I spend my spare time going through different books to find something good to read. When the final bell rang I realized it’s time to head towards my locker to grab my books or otherwise I would be late for my homeroom. I quickly issued all the books I have chosen and left the library. The hallways are no longer empty, the whole place is a complete chaos .Teenagers are going through their lockers , some are talking in a group while laughing and shoving each other. As I passed the locker of the school’s queen bee, Samantha Cole , she stopped talking to her minions and turned towards me with a smirk on her face . “Look the cat finally decided to drag in.” She tksed, behind her the minions were giggling. I decided to keep walking and try to ignore her snarky comments, but as I tried to pass her I felt a hand wrapping around my wrist the nails dug deep into my skin. That sure is going to leave some marks .She yanked me back so that now I’m facing her. I dared to look at her face, big mistake I tell you, her face is twisted into a scowl there is a crease between her forehead as she look at me with a glare. I immediately looked down. Her eyes held so much anger and hate? But for what ? I didn’t do anything to her. “Listen you and listen very carefully, when I’m talking you don’t get to ignore me” She all but shouted at me and when she noticed that I’m not responding to her she dug her nails deeper into my skin. I can feel the blood coming out from the cut by her nails.I grimaced in pain. “Yes” I replied quietly. I saw a smile of satisfaction spreads on her face. Satisfaction from my pain . A hard push from her knocked me down and all books that were in my hand scattered on the floor, with that pleasure she walked away followed by her minions. She's a blonde and very hot as most people say. You won't see a day when she isn't dressed to impress and her make up always seems to be intact, which I personally I don't like. It's just looks too much. As she left my first instinct was to check my camera that's hanging around my neck to check if it's okay or not. After not finding any default I sighed in relief. The hallways are now empty. Everybody has already gone to their class as they saw that the show is over which Samantha has put.  “Des!”.  Someone shouted across the hallway , I looked up to see my best friend  Sophie or should I say my only friend running towards me with a worried look on her face . “Are you okay?” She asked worriedly, as she knelt down to help me collect my books. I give her a reassuring smile with a nod. She smiled back gently. She knew me well enough to keep in mind that I don’t like pity from anybody. And maybe that’s why we are best friends she never showed me any pity at all unlike others. We met when we were in second grade, at that time Samantha was bullying me as usual. It was Sophie’s first day at school and she saw Samantha humiliating me and decided to stand up for me. From that day we are joint at hips. When we finally got to our homeroom class , our teacher Mrs. Chloe was already there and let me tell you she is a very strict teacher every student feared her and keeps a ten feet distance from her as if she is going to explode any moment like a bomb and no I’m not even overreacting. The sound of door opening caught her attention. She turned towards us with a glare that could even scare a clown. “Detention!!” She just shouted one word that left me standing  with only one thought going through my head that this is going to be a long day.  *** It’s finally the last class of today and I’m just waiting for the clock to strike at 1 PM so I can get out of here as fast as I can. You can’t blame me for wishing the class to end I mean it is history and who on the right mind could like a subject as horrible as history. As the bell rang I shoved all the books inside my bag and ran out of the class. When I reached the exit of the school only one thing was going around my mind that I have to arrive home as soon as possible. I don’t even want to think about the possibility of my late appearance. What they would do....My thoughts were cut short as someone slammed into me hard that made me lose my balance. I shut my eyes and waited the impact of my body falling on ground but that never happened. I finally felt the unfamiliar arms that are wrapped around me and that saved me from the fall. I opened my eyes slowly to see face of a complete stranger but let me tell you he is handsome. His eyes are a deep shade of ocean blue, the type of eyes in which you can get lost to every time you stare into them, his  jaw is so sharp that you could cut a paper with it. His brows are furrowed right now that  just made him look even more attractive. I finally look into his eyes, after I was done with my staring. His eyes are still on my face. He probably thinks that you're crazy. I mentally rolled my eyes at my internal voice. “Are you okay??”His worried voice break the trail of my thoughts as he helped me to stand up properly. I can tell by his voice that he is genuinely asking. It’s kind of good to know that somebody else can be worried about me but as soon as that thought came into my mind I shoved it aside. “Ye...yeah” I finally answered with a strained voice. I cleared my throat. “Yeah I’m fine” I assured him again. His arms are still wrapped around me but not as tightly as it was before but rather gently. I could see his hesitation in his actions that he is still not sure if I’m alright or not. He might be thinking that I’m a psycho the way I’m continuously staring at him. He slowly dropped his hands and I immediately took a step back and whispered a quiet apology and thanks before dashing towards the exit of school gate. I could feel his gaze burning hole into my head. But I didn’t dare to look back. He may think I’m weird and maybe I am but I just can’t seem to hold his gaze any more it’s like he can see right through me and that scared me, a lot. It’s better if it is our first and last encounter ,it should just stay that way. Because by the looks of it he might join the popular radar very quickly and I don’t want to make my high school experience any more horrible than it already is.
