. . . ELEANOR I stood in front of the mirror, brushing out my hair, when my phone rang. I had just stepped out of the bathroom after having a nice ass shower. I glanced at the caller ID and saw Alex’s name flash across the screen. A wave of annoyance washed over me but I picked up the call. "Hey, Alex," I answered, my tone light and curious. "Hey, Evelyn. I was wondering if you'd like to join me for dinner tonight. I have a few things I need to talk to you about," Alex said, his voice calm and friendly but I did not like his voice nor anything about him. He had lost every bit of respect which I had for him.
