The lamp on the side table cast a soft glow, illuminating my focused face as I worked through the paperwork. It was midnight yet I did not want to stop working until I was done. After what happened with Alex interfering in my company, I did not want anymore interference. I barely noticed the creak of the stairs as Dante descended, his footsteps soft but deliberate. “Eleanor,” Dante called, his voice gentle yet commanding.
