. . . ELEANOR It was the day off, and the house was filled with the soft glow of twinkling lights and the faint sound of carols playing in the background. I had just stepped out of the shower, the steam trailing behind me as I wrapped herself in a plush, white towel. My skin was warm and slightly damp, and I felt a serene contentment as I moved toward my bedroom. I was so tired that I just wanted to get in my bed and pass out.
