CALLIOPE QUINN DIAZ, MARRY ME
Calliope's Pov
"Calliope, dress up already!" my mom said when she saw me sitting in the kitchen table still wearing my pajamas.
"No." I looked at her using my poker faced expression.
"The Gomez family is coming." My dad said while walking down the stairs hurriedly. I can hear his fast footsteps from the kitchen.
Madaling madali? ano bang gagawin ng mga Gomez dito? may business meeting ba sila? Anong connect naman no'n sakin?
I saw my dad look at me with a surprised look. I raised an eyebrow at him. He eyed me from head to toe.
"Why are you still not dressed up?" he asked irritatedly.
"Chill!" I raised both my hands in the air while biting a spoon in my mouth. "I get it, sa kwarto lang ako don't worry." I jumped off the table and walked towards the kitchen entrance still biting the spoon between my lips.
"What do you mean sa kwarto ka lang?! You are going to meet the Gomez!
I scratched my head in annoyance. "Oo na maliligo-" I stopped midair from finishing my sentence.
Kasal? Anak? What the?
I pulled the spoon from my mouth.
"Hoy! I am not marrying anybody if it's not for love!" I shouted.
"You have to be practical nowadays Calliope-"
"Practical, practical- ano 'to? practical research? ano? di pa din tapos senior high? I don't want to marry some guy who doesn't even know my name!" I ran to the open doors of our house.
As I was about to pass the door, I suddenly crashed into someones chest.
Ouch! Ano ba 'to!
I heard my Mom and Dad gasped. When I looked up, I saw a man wearing the darkest expression I have ever seen. Naka all-black pa. Napaaga yata undas nito. Ay, baka namatayan.
"Condolence, pare." Tinapik-tapik ko balikat niya.
I heard my mom shout my name. That was my cue to continue to run.
I ran outsides our house, still in my pajamas. I looked left and right for a taxi but no taxi is coming. I sat on the gutter infront of me.
Nasayahan naman yata sila masyado. There is no way na hahayaan ko na kunin nila sakin 'yong freedom ko. Akin 'yon, eh.
I sighed.
"Siguradong galit 'yon sila mama at papa sakin." I mumbled.
I stood up the moment I saw a taxi coming my way. The moment I got in the car, I immediately tried to close the door. But was stopped by the guy earlier.
"Oh? Lods?
I don't want to end up like my mom and dad. Even though they try to hide it, I know they're tired of each other. I have trouble sleeping most of the nights, that's why I can hear them screaming at each other.
I don't want to marry someone I just met. I'm not in some story, or disney movie where fairy tales are true and happy endings are every where. I live in reality where almost every single thing is painful and every decision you make can be full of regrets.
I chuckled at the thought. Speaking of, ang tigas ng chest niya kanina pero at the same time parang malambot din. Parang ang sarap tuloy yakapin. I chuckled to myself again.
Ganda ko 'no?" I joked. Pero nanatili lang siyang nakatitig sakin. Ah, baka akala niya nababaliw na ako.
Creepy nito, ha. Di kaya stalker 'to? Kaya siguro 'to nakatitig. Teka nga, baka mamaya may tinatagong hinanakit ng loob 'to sakin.
Sayang pera. Napabuntong hininga na lang ako.
As I walk my way inside the park, a very nostalgic feeling came to me. Memories of my family and I suddenly flashed before my eyes.
The memory of them pushing the swing, the memory of us playing hide and seek. The memory of having a picnic. All of those flashed right through my eyes.
The green trees, the way the other children play. Everything feela very nostalgic. It makes me want to go back to the times I used to play with my friends.
I'm missing everything we used to do.
Ano meron 'te? Bakit may pa-nostalgic nostalgic ka? Broken ka? I laughed inwardly because of my crazy thoughts.
He picked up his phone and started typing, while I walked my way to the swing. I caught him glancing at me then acted as if he was calling someone.
When I reached the swing, I sat down and swayed my feet to move it.
Suddenly, it hit me. Gomez... Gomez... Napatigil ako bigla sa galaw ng swing. Oh... Gomez... Shoot... SHOOT!
I stood up slowly and tried to walk away. But before I could even take a step, a low voice suddenly spoke behind me.
"Where are you going?" his cold low voice sent shivers down my spine. Ang scary naman nito!
I slowly looked back and smiled at him awkwardly with a matching little wave.
"Oh, lods! Ano kasi... Uh, it's not you, it's me." He looked at me as if I was some crazy girl spiting nonsense. "Lods, hindi ako si Celine, and I will never be Celine." I told him with a straight face.
He chuckled. Loh? If creepy then why pogi? huhu.
"Yes, I know." he said with an amused face.
"Yes, that's why me go far away na. Okay? See you never."
He chuckled again.
Ano ba 'to! pa-fall. Hehe. Joke. Pereng ewen nemen kese 'teng lelekeng 'te. Ehe~
"I know... You're not Celine cause you're Calliope Quinn Diaz. My future wife-"
"Hoy! Hindi ako pumay-" he hushed me by placing his index finger to my lips. Ang bango naman nito! Bakit ganon?
Hala, ano meron?
"I, Ayden Spencer Gomez, am asking for your hand in marriage. Calliope Quinn Diaz. Marry me."
