I saw the determination seeping out of every pore of Meela's face as she pushed past me, struggling to walk out of the hospital room.

'Meela, baby, we're on it. We have people out there searching and my dad has called up local packs'

She turned to me, eye browns knitted together in the most adorable way.

'Fine, but we should be there too'

Alistair howls triumphantly in my head.

'She's going to accept us, she's our Luna'

'Not so fast Alistair, we've still got a lot of making up to do'

'Speak for yourself' He grumbled 'I told you not to go to Lana'

'Why don't you finish eating and then we can discuss everything with Tobias and Deena honey?'

Mara offered while gently takimh Meela by the elbow and walking her back to the bed.

'But she's out there somewhere Mom'

'I know, I know, but our best trackers are out there too' Mars continued to reason.

Meela looks to me, a silent plea in her eyes.

'No use in looking at me like that sweetness, I agree with your mother. Now please get back into bed and finish your food.'

'Fine, but only if you stay with me'

I sat down on the bed next to her and kissed the top of her head.

'Baby, I'm never leaving your side again'

'Would you want to go back to your pack or would you like to join Red Moon?'

My eyes opened wide in surprise, but he must have assumed it was in horror.

'Did they abuse you? Is that why you ran away?'

Anger flashed in his eyes before he closed them, pinching the bridge of his nose and breathing deeply.

'What? No.'

His posture relaxed until his eyes re-opened as their usual blue pools.

What is the matter with this guy, always so angry.

'You don't have to decide right now little wolf. Why don't I show you around?'

Finally, an escape from the claustrophobic office that at first felt so large.

People stared as Alpha Raife walked me through the pack house, explaining that most of the pack lived in the house, but some with young families reside in their own cottages nearby. He towered above the others, easily standing at 6 foot 6. Intimidating both physically and mentally. Although he was a very angry Alpha, she was starting to realise that the anger wasn't directed at her.

We climbed the staircase until we reached the top floor. Two doors faced eachother on opposite sides of the wide corridor.

Alpha Raife rested a hand on the door to the left.

'This is my room, if you need anything at all, just ask.'

He moved across and opened the other door to reveal a large cream bedroom with oak furnishings.

'This room is yours'

A king sized bed was pushed against the far left wall, a selection of gold and blush cushions sat arranged artistically on top.

'There's an ensuite and a walk in closet'

Did I just hear him right? A walk in closet?

Unable to speak, I stood there in awe of the magnificent room before me.

He took my hand and pulled me towards the bed and motioned for me to sit beside him.

'Rest up in here for now and I'll have some food brought up to you later'.

He gently stroked my cheek before leaving without saying another word.

It felt good to be clean and in my own clothes again.

'I think you still should have let me shower with you' Nial pouted as I squeezed the excess water out of my hair with the towel.

'We have an important meeting to get to Nial' I remind him, trying desperately not to smirk at his behaviour.

'A quick play wouldn't have hurt'

Karmen stirred in my mind, siding with my mate.

Unfazed by the accusation, she struts seductively.

'Atleast I'll admit it, prude!'

I chuckle slightly before locking her away in the depths of my mind. I really don't need her sass today.

I pull Nial to his feet and wrap my arms around his neck. His lips soon find mine sending delicious sparks to my core. I groan as he deepens the kiss, feeling the moisture pooling in the apex of my thighs. I break away, breathless from the passion flowing between us.

'Come on, we'll finish that later' I promise with a wink.

Nial and Meela were the last to arrive and took their seats between to Meela's and Lana's parents.

'I've spoken to Red Moon this afternoon, Alpha Raife said they have Lana and that she's safe'

Meela gasped and grabbed Nial's hand.

'We have to rescue her, she won't be safe there'

A horrified expression drowned her face.

'I know you've heard stories, but most are likely fallacy. He has offered her a place in the Red Moon pack but she hasn't yet decided.'

Jules begins to sob, Darren comforts her, anguish evident in his tired eyes but he does a better job of hiding it for Jules' sake.

'My poor Lana, I wish she'd just come home. It's her birthday tomorrow. I just want her home'

I look to my son, the new Alpha of Black Orion. I've prepared him for many things, but nothing quite like this.

'Nial, you are Alpha now kid, how do we proceed?'

His face pales as he swallows a lump in his throat.

'Could we go over there, maybe speak to her in person? What do you think?'

Two nights ago, I saw my son, the man take over as Alpha. In front of me now sits my son, the boy who looks terrified of the situation presented to him.

'You need to let him pave his own way dear'

The voice of my beloved Deena filters through the mind link.

'Is that what you'd like to do Alpha?' I ask him out loud.

'Y-yes' he stutters

'Remember to remain confident. You are the leader of this pack, they need to see you strong.'

I communicate through the mind link.

He nods once at me in understanding.

'Yes, I shall go to Red Moon with Jules and Darren'

'I'm coming too' Meela bravely announced.

'Are you now stating that you're accepting my son as a mate, in doing so also accepting the responsibility of Luna?'

Her eyes darted to Nial's, frantically searching for answers to unspoken questions.

The room was silent, waiting on bated breath for her to decide.

Barely a whisper, a human would not have heard the reply that escaped her lips.

'Yes'

'Meeting over' Nial announced as his eyes darkened to a molten steel. His wolf on the verge of surfacing.

'Everybody out, now!' he commanded.

I wanted to joke about being kicked out of my own cabin, but thought better of it. I mind linked instead.

'Go easy son, she's only just come out of the hospital'

'There is no way she is setting foot into another pack's territory without my mark on her'

As an Alpha, I understand how possessive our wolves are.

'Come on, let's go start a camp fire'.
