Training.

Jace’s pov.

Rai’s just fallen asleep I’ve made her as comfortable as possible. I could have moved her to bed but I didn’t want to wake her up.

I’m in shock over what she told me, it’s a lot to process.

Mum just woke me up. Morning mum don’t worry nothing happened we fell asleep talking.” “Morning Jace, I know it’s ok. I take it you’ve both sorted things out!!”

I smile and nod. Mum goes to the kitchen to get breakfast started. I picked up my phone and started playing a game while I play with Rai’s hair, it felt great to be like this. After a while Rai woke up, we said good morning and went to get changed. While we had breakfast, Rai filled them in on what was going on and my dad laid down some ground rules. I know he’s right but it’s going to be hard, the pull is getting stronger.

Bain and Kale are shocked by what Rai’s just told them and vowed to help and protect her.

Rai went for a ride while I got to work in the fields, I have increased crop production over the last couple of months. What we don’t need we sell, giving the pack another income. While working I was able to keep an eye on Rai as she rode.

Lizzie was with Bain and Kale, they are also keeping an eye on Rai. Now that I knew I could see what Rai meant by Lizzie and Bain getting closer to each other. I have to admit as a future alpha they are good for each other and will make a great beta couple when the time comes. But as an older brother it’s going to take some getting used to.

When Rai is done with her ride they go back to the pack house. While I continue working I come up with a plan for a date with Rai. As it’s dangerous for Rai to leave the pack, I’ve had to think outside the box. It’s going to take a couple of days to get everything together and I’ll need some help.

Rai’s pov.

I’ve done my schoolwork for the day. Now I’m going training for the first time Lizzie, Bain, Kale and I meet up with Jace on the training grounds. The training grounds consist of sparring mat’s, gym equipment and a assort-course. Jace is leading the lesson and after the warmup he pairs me up with Bain and Lizzie is with Kale. We start with the boys trying to get a hold of us while Jace instructs us how to block them. Once we’ve gone through the moves a few times we switch to trying to attack the boys I.e how to punch and kick.

Jace: “Rai and Bain please move to the edge of the mat’s. Lizzie and Kale your going to spar, the first one to get their opponent on the floor wins.”

Lizzie and Kale start fighting, Lizzie manages to get a couple of hits in but kale’s faster and takes out her legs making her land on her bottom. Then it’s Bain and my turn. I move forward to hit him, somehow I know what he’s going to do and at the last second I change the direction of my fist and hitting him in the stomach, ducking his hit and spinning round to kick him in the face nocking him to the ground. Uh what the heck just happened!! Jace looks proud and the others look just as confused as I am.

Shay: “Apparently one of our gifts is knowing what’s about to happen in a fight.”

“Uh ok then that’s useful but I still need to know how to fight and no one is going to want to spar with me.”

Jace: “Rai are you ok?”

“I’m sorry I was just talking to Shay. Apparently we can sense what’s about to happen in a fight. How am I supposed to learn to fight if I can’t actually fight!!!!”

Kale: “Well seeing Bain get his arse kicked was fantastic. You may have known what he was about to do but what you did was all you. We’ve got punch bags and a sparing dummy, they don’t fight back you can learn how to attack on them and in a few weeks you can join the warrior training and spar with them. They are more experienced and faster than us so will be more of a challenge for you. Come on let’s go home it’s nearly dinner time.”

After a shower we had dinner with Bain and Kale’s parents and to Bain’s embarrassment Jace told everyone about our training session. Which has everyone crying with laughter.

Mark: “ Oh wow I wish I’d been there to see it.”

Jace: “Well funny you say that because you can. I recorded it on my phone.”

Bain: “Oh thanks a lot mate.”

Jace smiled at him and showed the video.

Luke: “Ok taking the comedy aspect out, Rai what you did was great but I need ask how you did it.”

“Well you see the thing is one of my gifts is to sense what an opponent is about to do. It kicked in when we started sparring, at first I didn’t know what was going on but went with it. Kale’s idea is good I can’t wait for the challenge.”

Luke: “Obviously we won’t be telling the pack about your gift’s. I’m intrigued to see what you’ll be able to do. As the future Luna being able to protect yourself and others will be very important for you and Jace, especially with whoever is looking for you and what happens if or when they find you.”

We all nodded in agreement, clear the table and did the washing up.

“Good night everyone I’m going to read in bed for a bit, I’ve got a few chapters to finish before I can do this week’s essay for English.”

“Good night Rai”

For the last few days we’ve trained for a couple of hours before dinner, it’s been really good I’ve learned a lot about, how to defend myself against a punch bag. Luke had watched some of today’s practice and said we could join the pack training tomorrow. On the way into the pack house, Jace stopped walking as we were holding hands it made me stop to.

Jace: “Rai can I ask you something please.”

He seemed nervous, I smile and nod.

“Uh would you like to go on a date with me tonight?”

“Yes that would be nice what time?”

He let out a big sigh of relief.

“Wow thank you. Is an hour enough time for you to get ready? Dress comfortable for being outside.”

“Yes that fine where should I meet you?”

“Rai this is a date so I’ll pick you up from the front door of the flat. See you in a hour.”

“Ok.”

In the time we’ve been talking we’d got upstairs and went into our rooms. Lizzie was sitting on my bed, making me jump when I saw her.

“Sorry Rai I didn’t mean to scare you Jace asked me to help you get ready so get your butt into the shower and don’t forget to shave your legs we haven’t got time to wax them”

“Yes boss”

An hour later washed, shaved, hair and makeup done I was as ready as I was ever going to be.

“Lizzie I have one question. How is this dress ‘outside comfortable?’ Do you know where Jace is taking me?”

“That was two questions it’s your first date the dress is cute I don’t know where he’s taking you now get out have fun”

I went to the front door, took a deep breath and open the door.
