“The crash wasn’t the assassination attempt.” Marcus’s words slice through the lobby. For a moment, the only sound in the room is the rain hitting the glass walls of Reyes Tower. Adrian doesn’t move. His gaze is locked on Marcus. “Explain,” he says quietly. Marcus takes another step inside, water dripping from the edge of his coat. His presence feels heavier than the storm outside. “I don’t have time for a long version.” “Then give me the short one.” Marcus glances briefly toward Margaret.
