That night, Braire and Driven stayed at the hospital. They didn’t want to leave their daughter alone— she was in critical condition, and anything could happen.
So the couple settled into the waiting room. One of the nurses brought them a blanket to help with the cold. Braire pulled her legs up to her chest and snuggled close to Driven on the stiff chairs. Exhausted, she eventually fell asleep in his arms.
Driven took the opportunity to text his friend Mathew, letting him know that Michaela was in the hospital and what had happened. After sending the message, he leaned his head back against the cold wall and finally drifted off to sleep.
