As arrived, the doctors moved Michaela out of the ICU and into the hospital's recovery ward. There, she would be carefully monitored by the nurses.
Driven was relieved by the good news and had gone back home on Sunday afternoon with Briar. Either way, being home just wasn't the same without Michaela.
It was too quiet and empty, as if something vital was missing from their lives.
