Lucas point of View
As early as the sun rose on Sunday morning, Lucas was already up and out in the field. He led the cows out early, milked them, fed the chickens, and collected the fresh eggs they had laid. After he was done, he led the sheep out and fed them, too.
By the time he returned home, it was already nine o'clock.
To his surprise, the house was still quiet; Joelien, his cousin, was still fast asleep on the big living room sofa. She looked so peaceful that Lucas didn't want to wake her, so he headed straight to the kitchen to start breakfast.
