Josh Point of View
Josh stood there in his door way and watch how Briar’s car faded into the distance. The red taillights bled into the twilight, shrinking until they were nothing more than pinpricks in the growing dark. He didn’t move until the engine hum was completely swallowed by the night.
He turned and trudged back into the apartment, the heavy wooden door clicking shut with a finality that echoed in the silent room.
His uncle had tried to engage him earlier, his voice a low hum of concern that Josh couldn't process. The whole Tuesday and Wednesday he haven’t gone to work. Josh told his uncle that he would be tomorrow back at work again he just need this two days to himself.
