I wonder if my god grandmother would take me back? There was only one way to find out, I would need to ask her, plus I owed her an apology.
With my mind made up, my steps hurried the familiar route to her house, and in no time I stood infront of her house, my hand raise to knock on her front door.
Instead, my hand pauses midair, doubts of being welcomed, starts to assault me. Was I making the right decision? Coming back here, would mean being away from Ethan.
My hand falls to my side, and I sigh in fustration. Turning around, I begin walking away from the house. The sound of a door opening, make my steps falter on the pathway.
"So you were, just going to leave," I hear the soft voice of Ms. Anna saying behind me.
I quickly turn around to face her "I am sorry, I wasn't sure if you, would want to see me, after what I did," I tell her honestly, fidgeting with my hands.
"We are family, tho not by blood. We don't abandon each other," she says sternly, her blue eyes looking deeply into mines, piercing my soul.
"But you didn't want me back here, you sent me to live in the bunkhouse!" I tell her accusingly
"That was all Ethan. As his mate, he is not ever going to let you go, now that he has found you" she explains solemnly, wringing her hands.
I stared at her with my mouth open. She knew, how? Did he tell her, and if so, why?
I guess she must have seen the questions on my face, as she says
"Ethan told me, it was the only way, I was letting you stay, at the bunkhouse, his wolf needed you close by."
I snapped my mouth shut, what she said made perfect sense. It really was his doing, all along. I couldn't ask her to take me back now. He wouldn't allow it, and I really didn't want to be, so far away from him either.
"Thank you for everything, and I am truly sorry for running away, I was unhappy," I tell her sadly.
She walks the few steps towards me, and reaches for my hands, squeezing them lightly.
"I know you miss your mom, and being in a strange place with supernatural beings must not have been easy," she says with a tight smile.
"You have Ethan now, and he will stand by your side. You will soon be part of them when he marks you," she waves arms as she tells me this, referring to the entire pack.
"But that will not be now," I say, unsure of how much she really knew, since it was all supposed to be a secret.
"I know, he will bring you before them, when he is ready," she says, confirming my suspicion that Ethan had confessed all to her.
She pulls me in for a brief hug, and kisses both my cheeks.
"Run along now. I am sure, that he is waiting on you," Ms. Anna tells me, with a sly smile.
This tibit of news gets me excited, I wave goodbye to her and almost ran the rest of the way to the castle.
The guards let me in, and I hurried towards the bunkhouse. Entering it, I could hear the noise of the other occupants living there. I peeped my head in the various rooms, but no sight of Ethan.
I dashed up the stairs to my room. He must surely be there. I thought. I open the door expectantly, a bright smile covering my face, only to be met with an empty room.
What kind of of witch was she? Claiming to have precognitive abilities, and failing miserablily. If I only knew how to, I would put a spell on her for this prank. I fumed, my mood turning sour.
"Old hag," I say out loud, in vextation. I could have broken an ankle getting here, my blasted feet hurts.
I decide to take a relaxing bath in the tub, hopefully this will calm me. I fill it with warm water, and added a cherry blossom bath bomb to it.
Stripping off my clothes, I get in and lay my head on the edge of the tub. I practice some meditation breathing techniques, to destress my mind and body.
After about twenty minutes, I get up out of the bathtub. My body feels great, like on cloud nine. I put on a pair of matching black lacy underwear, and covered that with red shorts and a white baby tees. I had some homework to do, so I spend the next hour tackling that.
The sound of a knock at my door, startles me out of my study haze. I stand up, stretching trying the get the knots out of my body, from sitting too long.
This chair was uncomfortable, I need to have it change for something more ergonomically friendly.
Another knock reminds me, that someone is still outside my door. I didn't think it was Ethan, hence my reluctance to answer.
Opening it, I find Adeline standing there on the treshold, with a tray of food in her hands. The smell of food, make my stomach rumbles.I only had the burger at lunch, and it was now about six.
"I brought you dinner, and I am sorry for whatever I did" she says apologictically.
"Thanks," I tell her, "For the record you didn't do anything wrong. I'm just realising that, I am a very emotional person, and I let that side of me, take over sometimes,"
"It's something, I am working on," I tell her, knowing that I needed to get, that part of myself under control.
I take the tray from her, giving her a smile
"See you at breakfast," I say, and she smiles back. I nudge the door with my hips, closing it.
I take the tray over to the coffee table and rest it down, eagerly exaiming the array of cold meats and bread. Two types of cheeses, and a bunch of dark grapes lay next to it.
I sit on the couch and begin stuffing, my belly full of food. When I feel, I couldn't eat anymore I stopped, and look at the now almost empty tray.
A few bits of meat and one slice of bread, with a few lonely grapes remains. I lean back aganist the couch feeling satiated.
The day was almost done, with no sign of Ethan. I missed him. I need him, just to hold me, so I could endure being here.
My emotions were draining me, the incredible highs and the extreme lows. My body couldn't continue, to function like this. I needed to make a change, starting now. I need to take back control of my life.
I instanly felt better. Ethan was probably busy, and I did see him last night, my mind reasons. I nod my head in agreement. I will see him another time.
My body relaxs and my eyelids flutters close, tiredness creeping up on me.
I must have fallen asleep, because I open my eyes to bright sunlight. I shot up, unbelieving that it was a new day. I glance at the time, it was seven.
I rushed into the bathroom and showered quickly, brushing my teeth, from the food residue.
I put on a pair of blue distress jeans, and a hot pink navel breaker. I grab my bag of books, the tray and head downstairs.
I disposed of the tray in the kitchen and entered the dinining room. I spot Adeline talking to a red haired guy and walk over to her. I sat down on, the empty seat to her left.
"Good morning," I says loudly to everyone, they all pause to look at me confusely. I hear a few mumbled good mornings back.
Adeline looks at me in shock, a grin spreading across her face.
"Good morning Angelia," she tells me.
I pick up an empty plate, and take a large bagle, buttered in cream cheese on it. I pour myself some grapefruit juice, and begin to eat, with Adeline eyes still on me.
"Somebody, is in a good mood this morning," she whispers to me.
"No, somebody is making the best, out of the situation," I correct her statement.
I had decided, not to let my experiences, change me for the worst. I was now officially an adult. I did not have to stay here, if I truly didn't want to, regardless of how I felt about Ethan.
I needed to start making, choices best for me. I had never given anyone, a chance to get to know me, as I had always, let my feelings dictate me. No more, I was going to make rational decisions moving forward.
Ethan was another story, I had to learn how to love him correctly, without losing myself in the process.
After breakfast, we walked to school with two other girls named Lisa and Rose. They were curious about me, asked all sort of questions, about what it was like, living on an island, to my culture and family.
School was just a repeat of yesterday, except at lunchtime, I was met in the line by Adeline, who, after grabing a spaggetti and meatballs lunch, led me to a table where, the two other girls sat eating lunch.
I didn't let them know, how much this means to me. Turning away my head, I quickly blink away the tears. I think Adeline notice, but she didn't say anything.
