What was she talking about? If I had powers, I would know. I would use it all the time. She was crazy. At least now, I knew why I was really here. My desperate mother, was hoping that I had powers so she could, somehow redeem herself through me, and maybe returned to her home town. I didn't know, how this was supposed to help her, as she still would have no powers. I lay in my bed, pondering all of this. We had parted ways for the night, after that last bombshell, which she dropped on me. I was beging to feel as if my life, was spiraling out of control, and I needed to find a way, to bring it back together quick. The next day passed by quietly. Ms. Anna told me that, I was to start the local high school, next week Monday. She took me by the school building later that day, to have me registered. I was surprise to see that it, was like a normal high school. It was a large, three story concrete structure, comprising of an Adminstrative office, rows of classroom, with a gym/auditorium, and cafeteria area. There were a few teenagers, milling around in the hallway, when we visited. The majority of students, seemed to be in their respective class, I was glad that, we did not bounce up, the group of kids from the bakery. A few days passed by, and it was now Friday. I wondered around the house, and yard getting myself familarize with everything. I noticed a few tracks, leading off into the woods, and wanted to explore, but Ms. Anna alway had something for us to do. We went to town a few times, and she showed me, where the town's main hall was, which was next to the library. We even visited my mom's old home. It was situated more on the edge of the town, but was abandon now. I wanted to go inside but Ms. Anna said no, as she didn't know, how safe it was. As more time went by, with me not seeing Ethan, and no word from him. I begin to wonder, if it really happened at all. Did I really allow a stranger, to hold me in his arms, and suck on my neck? My mind thinks this over, as I lay in bed. If it weren't for the now purple brusies, which were blood red, few days earlier. I would have thought, I had imagine the whole thing. Did I brusie myself? From maybe tying a scaft around my neck too tight. My long white hair hid them, from my grand godmother, of which, I was thankful. I wasn't ready to answer any questions. I do daydream sometimes, vividly to the point where, things sometimes seems real. "Yes, I did dream it all, it never happened," I say to myself, trying to convice my tortured brain and aching heart. "None of if it happened," I say to myself, over and over again. Till my mind starts, believing it. I would be starting school tomorrow, and my focus needed to be on that. Making friends in this strange place, may be hard to do. No boyfriends! As I obviously, was not ready, for a real relationship. I almost had a nervous breakdown, just from one encounter with a man, but ohh, what a earth shattering one it was. "None of it happened, it is all in your mind, " I say again, in a firm voice, trying to forget Ethan. I guess I must have, eventually dose off to sleep, as I opened my eyes to bright sunlight streaming through my french doors. The morning was still early. I could hear the birds, still singing away, and feel the slight chill in the air. It was 6:30am, my body automatically knew it, before glancing at the silver watch, on my left wrist. I have always been good at, knowing the time. Somehow, my body always knows, what time it is, without even looking at my watch. SCHOOL TODAY! My mind screams at me. Damd it, I had forgotten. Do I really have to go? If the kids, I had seen yesterday at the bakery, was any indication of the ones at school, then I would be a loner. I reluctantly get off the bed, and neaten it back up. I had no choice but to go to school, even if I pretended to be sick, I would still have to go eventually. I sigh in defeat, and put my hair up in a bun. I walk into the bathroom, and take off my sleepwear to take a shower. I take a brisk shower, letting the cold water, revitalize my still sleepy body. I stepped out the shower, grabing the towel on the rack. I dry my wet skin, then wrapped the towel around my body securing it in a knot. I brush my teeth, and put on deoderant. Walking out of the bathroom, I opened the closet door, and stand there for a minute or two, trying to figure out what to wear, for the first day of school. I arrived at the front of the school building on time. I just stand there, staring at it, with great aprehension. I had selected a pair dark blue capri pants, with a white thin strap top. To match it all, I wore my pair of white two inch wedges. My hair was plaited in a single long braid, hanging down my back. I wore no make up on my face, only pink champayne lipgloss on my already pink lips. My black bookbag, was hanging off my right shoulder. Ms. Anna, had taken me shoping, for school supplies earlier in the week. I see kids, of various ages and sizes heading into the building. A few of them glanced at me curiously, on their way to classes. I walked up the three big stone steps, leading to the school entrance, and pushed the glass doors open. I walked down the hallway, with the kids, milling around me. The corridor where the school locker stood, were filled with the most kids. A few were taking out books from their lockers, while the rest were chatting away animately. Locating my locker, I put away most of the books, only taking what I need for the morning periods. They all stopped, what they were doing, and stare at me. I hear whispers and the word 'human' again, I was begining to get immune to it. Locking my locker, I leave them behind, and walk down the corridor, heading towards my first class, which was supposed to be, a double period of maths. I had been placed with the seniors. I did an entrance test, and had aced it. Apparently, I was smart, very smart. Nerd. I think to myself. Learning, has never been hard for me, it was like breathing, I somehow was able to comprehend, and remember school work, or fun facts pretty easily. I found my assigned my class, and enter the room. There were about twenty something, teenagers in the room, some were sitting behind their desk, and a few others were standing about, chatting away with each other. Everyone goes silent, as they notice me for the first time. The bloody whispers starts up again! I quickly walk by pass them, looking for an empty seat in back. I find one by the window, and sit down on the usual metal and hard plastic chair. I ignore them also, and take out my books. Resting them on the desk, I hear the first period bell, rings loudly to commence class. A female teacher walks in and closes the door behind her. I see the kids standing, takes to their seats. The maths teacher sits at her desk, then says brightly to everyone "Goodmorning class." "Goodmorning Miss Brown," the students addresses her. "We have a new student with us. Her name is Angelia, and I understand that, her mother was from our own town. Help me to give her, a warm welcome," she commands them. They all turn to me, and say together "Welcome Angelia." laughing and giggling. "Thank you," I say, halfway standing up in embarrassment. I hated the feeling of being on display. "Now that's settle, lets start class," Miss Brown says sternly, going through a stack of papers, which she had placed on her desk. The door suddenly opens loudly, and a few late students rushed in saying "Sorry we are late, Miss Brown," taking their seats. I realise that, they were the group from the bakery. The door swings open again, and he walks in. He says the same thing to Miss Brown, then stands still for a moment, his eyes seemed to be searching the room for something or someone. His friends were trying to get his attention, calling his name, but he ignored them. His eyes all of a sudden zooms in on me, then shockingly, he walks to the back of classroom, and sits on the empty seat right next to me.
