I eat my breakfast slowly, savouring every bite. The sunlight and fresh breeze, caresses my skin and hair, drying it. I am really enjoying, being out here alone. Just me and nature, the scenery was beathtaking.
When I'm almost done, the front door bursts open, and a group of teenagers hustle out the door, no doubt on their way to school. I had made out, a few of Luke's friends, in the mix, but no Luke.
They ignored me, and passed me by straight, without a word, as they laugh, and joke with each other, having clean carefree fun.
I stifle my hurt, getting up to head back inside. As I entered the doorway, I bounce into a solid muscular chest.
"Awww," I say, losing my balance, and quickly looks up, only to discover, that it is Luke.
He grabs a hold of my arm, to steady me from falling, then moves them, as if burned.
A frown marred, his handsome face, as he looks down at me, and deliberately says
"Be more careful, next time. Human."
Then he strides pass me, jogging to meet up, with his friends.
That really sting. Being here was even worse, than school. There was no escaping them, while living here. I did not want to stay here, another night.
I would have to speak, with Ethan about this, if he wanted, to keep an eye on me, then the best place, for me to stay at, would be his house.
I couldn't remember, where the kitchen was, finally finding it, I open the door, to be met by three omega servants, I think. One of them quickly, takes my empty plate. I thanked them all, for cooking such a delicious breakfast.
They all stared at me, in surprise, making me feel as if, I had done, something wrong.
I hurriedly leave the kitchen, to get away from them. I walk upstairs to my room, going into the bathroom, to check on my appearance. Satisfied, I gather up my books for school, placing them into my bookbag.
I glance around, the room one last time, making sure that, I had everything, I needed for school.
I didn't want to go to school, but I had no choice, so I leave my new room, and close the door, in behind me.
As I reached the bottom step, I find Adeline waiting on me.
She turns around, when she hears me, and smiles, then says cheerfully
"I thought it would be nice, if we walk to school together."
I really wanted to be alone right now, but it would be rude of me to tell her so.
"Sure!" I answered, with force enthusiasm.
Adeline heads outside the house, and I followed. We walk in silence for a while, each lost in our own thoughts.
"Is Beta Ethan your boyfriend?" She asks out of the blue, startling me.
I immediately stop walking, feeling unsure of what to tell her or how much.
"I saw the way he looked at you, and he was admandant, that we repainted the bedroom, and buy furnitures to your liking." She says in amazement.
I am stun by all this news. Ethan did all that for me? When did he find the time, and what if, he hadn't found me. It was all so unbelieveable.
"We are good friends, very good friends." Was all I could say, feeling uncomfortable discussing him to her.
"Okay, yeah! I get it. Very good friends," she replies, placing some emphasis, on the word good, and double winks at me.
I shake my head at her, and with a slight grin to my lips says.
"Lets go. I don't want to be late for school."
I continue walking, and she follows me, not asking me any more questions, thankfully.
We eventually see the school building up ahead, with five minutes to spare. Children were still making their way through the glass doors. We entered into the main hallway, and both open our lockers. I take with me, only the books I needed, locking it back.
Adeline waits on me, then we walk into the classroom, taking our respective seats.
I hadn't realise before, that we were in the same class. So, she had witness the students bullying me.
The main question, I had on my mind. Did she laugh along with them?
The day draged by slowly, with me only seeing Adeline, from a distance. I was secretly hoping still, that we would at least have lunch together, but when that time came, I was sorely disappointed.
I am standing in line waiting, to collect my lunch, from the cafeteria lady. I glance around looking for her, and notice, that she was already seated, at a table in the corner, with two other girls.
They were all talking animately, and laughing. I collected my lunch and quickly walk out onto the field, as if I hadn't see them. I take up my usual spot, underneath the large shady tree.
I should never have gotten my hopes up, just because she was nice to me, didn't mean that, she wanted to sit with me at school.
Which group you sit with at high school was a huge thing, as it could make you, or break you. It was even worse than politics.
I slowly eat my chicken burger, trying not to choke on it, as I tried hard as possible, not to cry in public, and to act indifferent.
When I am done, I head to my usual hiding place, the library. I stayed there, pretending to read a book, I had selected from the shelf.
I was just biding time, waiting on the bell, to signal the end of lunch. It was taking forever! Finally I hear it, and leave the book at the counter, heading to my next class.
Unfortunately for me, Adeline and her friends were in this same class. I spot them as soon as I entered class. I see her signalling me over, but I ignored her, and take an empty seat next to a pretty blond girl.
That was a grave mistake, as the girl procees to scruch up her nose at me in distaste, as if smelling something nasty, and says loudly
"Ewwwh! Gross! I smell human."
The entire class bursts out laughing. I quickly glance at Adeline, and find her looking at me sympathetically, while her girlfriends laugh along, with the rest of the class.
I get up from that seat, and walked towards the back of the classroom, finding a seat far away, from every one else.
They still didn't want me near them, so I would do my best, to keep my distance, but how far away, could I really stay, within a classroom.
I take out my biology book, focusing my undivided attention on it, waiting for the teacher grinning teacher, to begin teaching.
I sat at the back of the classroom, for the next two classes, praying to hear the bell ring soon. Finally, this hell called high school, was over for the day. I could leave, and hide up in my bedroom, away from this cruel dark world.
I bundled up my books, placing them in my bag, being the first student, to walk out of the classroom. I hustle down the corridor, with the big door, with the 'EXIT' sign over it, as my goal.
As I neared it, I hear my name being called. Glancing around, I see that its Adeline. This makes me, speed up my pace, and through the doors I bounded, not stopping until, I was sure, that she was not following me.
I slowed my footsteps, relaxing for first time, in the day. I deeply breathe in the clean fresh, as most persons walked everywhere, so there was no polution.
I decided to visit, my favorite park. I seated myself, on my usual bench, destressing from the day.
My head was briming, with thoughts of running away with Ethan, and I was missing him badly.
He would never leave here. I was positive of this. This was his home, his safe haven after all.
Would they accept me, after he marks me? Or would things just stay the same? The ideal situation would be, for them all to just disappear.
Our relationship, was already difficult because of our two species. Adding an entire resentful community to the mix, would be a nightmare!
I knew that, he had his concerns, about them accepting me as his fated mate, and was trying to find a solution, to make it easier for us.
I wasn't ready to return, to the bunkhouse. Ethan seems to prefer, to see me at night time anyways. I guess he still wanted, to keep things between us hidden, until he was ready.
The question now was, what to do for the remainder of the day? It was only now 2:30 pm. Too early to go to bed, and I didn't feel like, being confineded to my room, for the rest of the day.
My god grandmother, I could go see her.
