Chapter 12

1520 Words
Hi angel," he says to me, with a wide toothy grin. His built muscular body was turned to me, halfway seated in the chair. "Luke," I acknowledge, feeling weired out by this new development. I kept my face facing forward, praying for the teacher to start teaching. As if she heard my cues, she does just that, instructing us to get out our maths text book, and turn to page 47. I focused solely on Miss Brown, ignorning him. "Angelia, you are new here. It is best you take a seat at the front," Miss Brown suddenly tells me, staring in my direction, waiting for me to comply. I hear Luke voice pipes up, "Miss Brown, I can bring her up to date on the work." NO! I screamed in my mind. This is surely not happening! "Oh, that's wonderful of you Luke," she tells him sweetly. I turn in my chair to face him and says, "It is not necessary, I can manage just fine." "Angelia, I am not sure what you are used to in the human world, but here when someone offers you help, you graciously accept," Miss Brown scolds me. I swallow my resevations, and says to Luke, "Thank you." "It's all my pleasure," he says with a wink, as if implying something else. I choose to not think about, his double meaning and focus solely on work at hand. Luke assisted me, with the maths subject, and I take a few notes. He suprised me, he was focused and intelligent. He explained the formulas to me clearly, and aswered all my questions. The bell finally ring, signalling the end of the second period. "Thank you again for your help," I tell him, thinking that he was not so bad, and maybe we could be friends. "You picked it up pretty fast, so you made my work easier," Luke tells me, shrugging his shoulders. He stands up and go to walk off, but instead turned to me and says. "It may be best for me, to to help with the other subjects all well. We do have most of, the same classes together." I think it over for a few seconds, I guess it did make sense, and he was a good mentor. Luke stands there, waiting on my answer. I deeply sigh, then looked at him and says "Ok." "Well, don't get too excited, will ya," he tells me sarcastically, and walks away. I noticed he walks up to his friends, and they all looked at me whispering, as if quietly arguing. They then turned away and walked out the classroom. What was that all about? I wondered. I knew I had Literature next, so I leave the now empty classroom, and head to that class. The teacher Mr. Martin, was hilariously funny, and he made the class fun. I was a bit disappointed when it ended, and the bell rings for lunch. I followed the throb, of moving students toward the cafeteria. I am starving, I had been feeling too nervous, to eat the breakfast Ms. Anna, had prepared for me, earlier this morning. I join the long quickly moving line, glancing around me. I spot Luke and his group, at one of the tables, laughing and talking. I noticed a tall, beautiful, blond girl, leaning over him playing with his hair. I turn my face away, not wanting him to notice me staring. I guess that's his girlfriend, I concluded. Apparently, I didn't have to worry, about him making a move on me afterall. My turn in the line comes, I pick up an empty tray and placed on it, a box of grapefruit juice, and a slice of bar-b-que chicken pizza, topped with olives. Looking around me, I notice all the tables, were occupied, some had one to two persons, while others were filled to capacity. I was not sure if, I would be welcomed to join one. I then realise that a few students, were eating in the big open field, adjacent to the school building. I walked out to the field, and sit under one of the many, poui trees scattered around the edge of the field. I place the tray on my lap, and start to eat my lunch. I glance around, noticing the dynamics, of the students. It was the same everywhere, even in this supernatural space. The popular or rich kids rules, then the jocks and cheerleads, etc..I guess, I was at the bottom of that totem pole. The lone human. The rest of the day flew by, and finally I was able to leave. I walk out the building, with the rest of students and towards my new home. Along the way, I decided to visit the park, and take in the ambience of nature, under the pretty yellow blossoming poui tree. I sit on the wooden bench, leaning back aganist it. Relaxing my body, I close my eyes, and deeply breathe in the clean perfumed air. I must have doze off for a while, as I come too someone gentle tapping my face. Opening my eyes, I see green ones intensely staring back at me. No! I say in mind, quickly sitting up. I stare at him in disbelief, my eyes opening wider. It was really him! My, no not mines, Mary-had a little Lamb, lover boy. Not boy tho, man and a sexy one at that. No! Don't focus on his body, oh those sexy lips. STOP IT! My mind screams at me. "Hi," Ethan says in his deep voice, "This is not the best place to sleep," he tells me. "I was not sleeping," I say indigantly. "I called your name twice, and you did not answer," Ethan says, sitting his six foot, five inch frame, next to me on the now small bench. "Oh," was all I could say, at the moment, my mind still reeling, from the shock of seeing him. "Our town is relatively safe, but with you being human, it may not be best to fall asleep anywhere," he warns me, glancing around the surroundings. "Because of the vampires and rogues?" I asks him. "How do you know about them?" Ethan asks me, looking quite suprised. "I have been reading up a bit, on your pack's history," I tell him, feeling proud of myself. "Have you by chance, read anything about true mates?" he asks me softly, looking away. "Yes, some. There were also some parts, that was confusing to me," I answer him. "Like what?" he asks, still not looking at me. "The book said, that werewolves have mates, but how do they find them by sniffing, and what makes them so sure, that they are mates," I ask him curiously. He stays silent for a while, glances at me, then looks away again. Did I have something on my face? I wondered, his attention was on everything else, except me. I try my best not to stare, at his handsome face. My heart starts racing, and I get excited as my n*****s hardens. My traitorious body, has a mind of it's own, shifting me closer to him. Ethan turns his head suddenly and stares at me intensetly. I see him sniffing the air around me, his green eyes darkening, just like the last time in his office. "Mates have a unique scent to them, no two scents are the same. They smell like each others favorite things," Ethan says slowly. "Mines are freshly baked pie and the scent of roses. When combined together, they create a most powerful aprodaysiac, that makes it impossible to resist each other," he wispers seductively. Ethan leans forward, and gently kiss my lips. I kiss him back hard, getting wet between my legs. Breaking our kiss, he pulls back from me. "You are the most beautiful girl, I have ever seen in my life, herein lies the problem, you are much too young for me," he tells me angrily, as if trying to convince himself. He abruptly stands up, with his hands fisted at his side, and harshly tell me "You are not making this easy for me, stay the hell away from me!" Then storms off. I sit still, feeling stunned by this encounter, and the ending. Is this how it's always going to be, every time we meet? I wondered sadly to myself. I wanted so badly, to see him again and now that I did, he goes and acts this way. His behaviour was odd. If he doesn't want me, then he needed to stay away. He was the one, always touching me, making me feel extraordinary things, then pushing me away. I knew that being with such an older man, was frowned upon, espically with me only being seventeen. This is not something I would normally do, but I have never felt this way before, about anyone else and these feeling were damd near impossible to fight. I am a good girl, and want to stay that way until, I was ready to have a boyfriend. Ok then Ethan, I will continue to stay far away from you.
