THE RESULT EMAIL

388 Words
Immediately after reading the last line, I fell into my reading seat close to the table. My heartbeat sped up, and tears flowed uncontrollably down my cheeks. From silent cries, it grew into loud screams. Before I knew it, I was throwing things around my room. My mum and dad immediately rushed into my room in fear. When they came in, my head was upside down. It was in total chaos. "Baby, what is wrong? Are you okay?" my mum asked with concern. My dad saw my face, and he knew that something was definitely wrong. I really didn't want my parents to see me cry, but at this point, it was too late, my pain was already overflowing. For some reason, my dad knew that they wouldn't get answers out of me. Instead of pressing with more questions, he scanned the room with his eyes for anything in my room that sold out the cause of my pain. Finally, his eyes caught the screen of my laptop. After looking at the laptop for a short time, he turned his gaze to me in confusion. He slowly bent to the level of the computer. I could clearly see his eyeballs moving left and right. When he was done, he looked at my mum and said, "Babe, her result email just came in." "Yeah?" my mum said, expecting further information. My dad took a deep breath before saying, "She didn't pass." "What? What do you mean? There has got to be a mix-up somewhere," my mum said in total disbelief. There it was... denial. It was so unbelievable that my mum was in denial. Her reaction just broke me down, and I started to cry aloud. My mum rushed to me and held my head. "Hey, hey, hey, baby. Shhhh, don't cry. There must have been a mistake somewhere. There has to..." "No, there isn't... there isn't, okay. I failed. I failed." I said in tears. I was so upset at the moment that I didn't mind my tone toward them. I got up angrily, kicking things around, screaming. I don't remember how long I was doing that, but I know that it was for a little while. Then my eyes met with my mum's. She had just been standing there looking at me. She looked surprised and heartbroken.
