The car rolled to a stop in front of the main estate. Cassia didn’t speak during the whole ride. She sat still in the passenger seat, her hands resting in her lap. Her face was calm, but her eyes were sharp. Dorian glanced at her. “Are you sure you want to do this alone?” “Yes,” she said. “I could stay close, just in case.” “I don’t want you in the room. Not for this.” Dorian nodded. “All right.” Cassia opened the door and stepped out. She wore black slacks and a blazer with no jewelry or makeup. Her hair was pulled back tight.
