Five months passed, yet the whole world seemed to move on as the search for Celine became futile.
I searched every nook and cranny around that area, hoping to see Celine again. But she was gone. We searched some of the houses, while others were inaccessible because the owners weren't around.
We didn't find the taxi at any of the houses, which was the worst part, as I didn't realize how smart the abductors were.
The only house where we saw a car was an old one, and we were told the owner had traveled to the village four years ago.
I told Roy to end the search, believing that Celine had chosen to move on with her life.
It was all my fault. If I hadn't pretended with her, if I hadn't listened to Edwin and confronted Celine about why she had to take Clara's place...
