Isa’s POV The woods were darker tonight. The moon overhead was hidden from the clouds that blanketed the night sky. I sprinted through the forest in my wolf form, feeling the wind rush though my mane and down the length of my back. The thunderous sounds of paws beat against the ground behind me, and my legs carried me faster— the wrapped bundle held tightly in my jaws. I knew if I could get just a little further I would reach our destination safely. A dark figure skid to a stop in front of me, a black wolf I did not recognize. I lowered my nose to him, intending to let out a low growl. But I heard an unfamiliar snarl instead— a noise I realized quickly was not mine.
