CHAPTER 3

Kate looked in her eyes and they where overwhelmed with sadness. He kissed her back passionately and mad her lie on the mat spread on the grass, as if to make love to her,but instead cuddled her tightly.

They both laid facing the sky.Kate held Nixie's hand and spoke softly." Hun, I can see your sad,ever since the time I met you,you have never thrown yourself at me and that's why I still love you. Remember? we both agreed we would wait until marriage, I'll marry you infront of the entire ghost town.hun , what's going on?"Kate asked being mindful of her feelings.

Nixie just stared into the blank sky as if she had became a statue."Its my mum,she I'd taking me away from you,my flight leaves this night,I'll never see you again.Am leaving for Argentina tonight. I'll be leaving with my grandparents. " she replied as tears slowly dropped of her checks.

"What!" Kate exclaimed as he stood up."Your leaving me tonight? I can't afford to lose you,your the only person who knows me for whom I really am.Your my only friend and the person I love the most."Kate tried to hold back all the emotions,but his lips were shaking and a cold shiver went through his body.

"Let's get married right now!" Nixie suggested with her eyes wide open."I don't have a problem with that. I'll just talk to my lawyer and he will tell us what to do.I can take care of us both,I don't need to work ,my account is loaded. " Kate sounded so confused."I don't want to lose you."Nixie buried her face on to his chest.

"Do you remember the day you won miss international group of schools beauty paegent? ,you were exhausted from walking on the runway all day and you went to freshen up.I had spilled coffee on my Shirt and I went to the bathrooms to Change.I had someone taking a shower and I knew it was you, you loved that cubic. I was just tempted to look.The beauty was immense, I didn't even realise you opening the door,I just found myself on the floor." Kate to change the topic.

They both laughed became Kate was exaggerating. "How could I forget,you were one naughty boy .The only Thing I noticed was you Kate junior standing strong. That's when I knew its true what you have always said that you were a boy.I wanted to scream but I couldn't. Ave always crushed on you but I was afraid to approach you ,I thought you were a girl and I had always prayed to God to make one of us a boy." She narrated how she discovered Kate was a boy as if she was describing her favourite movie.

Her cellphone rang and she went to her pocket and brought it out.Upon seeing the caller,she rolled her eyes and didn't pick it.

"Who is it?." Kate looked at her suspiciously.

"it's just my mum,she is just going to lecture me." she rolled her eyes and didn't pick it.

"Just pick it hun,let's hear what she has to say." Kate tried to convince her. Nixie answered the call and as soon as she picked it,her mum starts lecturing her.

"Where are you!didn't I tell you not to leave this place! your flight leaves at 11:00 o'clock! do you even know what time is it? don't even bother camping I'll came get you myself!" before she could even replay, her mum hinged up on her.

she hugged Kate tightly and started crying."Let's run away from here." Kate suggested. He held her hand and was about to leave. A car halted in front of them,Nixie's dad came out and stood in front of the car with his legs and arms crossed together. Nixie mum went and took Nixie from Kate and started dragging her along.Kate tried to stop her but Nixie's mum slapped her.

She pushed Nixie into the car and her dad drove them off.Kate stood with his hands on his head as he watched the car disappear into the corners of the road and finally got covered by the dark clouds of the night..For a moment there was nothing he could do but watch the life of his life drift futher away from him.He had stopped thinking for a while until he saw a cub passing by and stopped it.He asked the driver to take him to the airport.

He thought that maybe he could so something to stop her from leaving,or maybe change her parents mind.He thought he could be able to steal her from her parents maybe, but whatever the case was,he just had to try his luck.he just couldn't imagine a life without Nixie.

When Kate reached at the airport, it was already too late.Nixie had passed all the check points and was climbing the airplane stairs. She stood at a distance and begged her not to leave."please don't go,don't leave me alone." But only his heart could hear.For the first time.it never felt so painful. It's like a scar was cut open a fresh.

Nixie turned around and saw him walking away hesitantly. she knew exactly how

painful it felt. She was feeling the same pain .The pain of losing someone you loved dearly .Without much assurance of when she will ever see him again.she wiped the tears from her face and slowly got into the plane.

His parents stood by just to make sure she didn't runaway.They waited until the plane took off .They waited for a few minutes and finally went home. They were not willing to take any risk.
