chapter 2.

One evening, Kate was lost in thoughts thinking about his highschool girlfriend Nixie.They had been through alot together since highschool,especially when everyone thought they were lesbians.And with Nixie's parents trying to split them up,things were just not as easy as he would have loved them to be.His dad pushed the door open ,but he didn't even seem to notice it.

His dad tried to ask him but he seemed to be in a bad mood.

"Thinking about something huh?." His dad asked raising his eyebrows."Since when did you start caring?,you should have thought about my future, before you raised me as a girl."Kate replied.

"Your mum and I didn't know what to do back then,we wanted a baby girl and with your condition,we didn't know what to do. so your mum and I decided to bring you up as a girl ." His dad tried to be mindful of his feelings."Without even considering my future? ".Kate sounded remorseful.

"But son..." His dad tried to explain, but he was cut short. "What brings you here?" He asked without even looking at him.He was still holding a picture of Nixie.

"Your admission letter from the military just came in this morning, you are supposed to be admitted this coming Monday." he replied handing him the letter.

Kate took the Letter and quickly scanned it.His face turned from mad to furious."what is it dear ? why the long face? ".his dad looked concerned.

" This is your problem dad,you don't take me.seriously!" Kate yelled at him." But son ,isn't this what you wanted?" His dad tried to calm him down.

"No dad! il never be good enough to you!I don't want to be in the office,I want to fight,in the Battle field along side the soldiers!you have never taken me as a son! that's your problem!" He yelled at him.

Kate smashed the papers he was holding on the floor and walked out on him.His dad tried calling him but he just turned a deaf ear and banged the door on him.

His dad sat down on a chair next to him and remembered the day Kate was born."Finally we have a child of our own !" His mum was overexcited. she held him and patted him to sleep.They both watched him as he cozily slipped into sleep. "He smiled even in his sleep." His dad said to himself as he wiped the tears on his face.

"How canes today that smile is no longer there? could it be all my fault?" Flashes of him in the battlefield came flashing back."could I have spent too much time away from him?".He slowly bent down and picked up the papers spread on the floor.

He looked at them again ,one by one re arranging them.He placed them.back on the table and looked around Kate's room.

There was just one complete picture of them when he was a kid.He held his chin and picked it up.

He wiped it with his shirt and looked at it for a few minutes. Tears just kept flowing from his already red eyes.He placed it back and looked at Kate's grown up pictures.

He scratched his head ,rubbing it it roughly. He walked towards the door and looked at Kate's room one last time.He offed the lights and slowly closed the door behind him.

Kate was walking in the cold streets of ghost town ,thinking about his messed life.A friend of his dad saw him and greeted him."Hi miss ,how is your dad?".Kate didn't reply.This just made him more furious.

No one knew what he was going through.If only people could see his heart, maybe they would understand what he was going through but it was contrary to what was happening.

He was a rich ,spoiled kid maybe,some would say,but nobody really knew what was wrong him.

He was about to smash his cellphone on the ground, when he received a text message.

"Meet me at our usual place .Nixie". The text message read.

A bright smile drew on his face, as he placed his cellphone back in his pocket.he hoped about swinging his hands in the air.

Kate arrived at their usual place and found Nixie waiting for him.He kissed her neck while hugging her from behind.

Nixie turned and kissed him back.she asked Kate to make love with her.Kate was surprised, ever since he knew her from highschool, she has never behaved like that.

Kate looked at her and her eyes were full of sadnesses. He knew Nixie was hurting but he just played along.
