I heaved a deep sigh, pacing my room and wrestling with my decision. I couldn’t believe I’d let her go just like that. I kept telling myself it was for her protection, but regret was already gnawing at me about the decision that I had made. When I stared out my window, and we spoke mind-to-mind, her words pushed me to the edge, making me shatter the glass in anger.
How the hell could she even bring Karius’s name into it? Was it to spite me or make me jealous? If that was the case, it worked because I was seething with anger as I watched them leave.
