Elias’ POV
I open my eyes and all I see is brightness. My eyes work to adjust to the brightness and I realise I am in a hospital bed, in a ward. Why am I in a hospital? A sharp pain goes through my head and I immediately reach for it and feel bandages. Seriously, what the f**k happened?
All of a sudden, I feel a hand over mine and whip my head to see who it is.
“Lina?” I could see the tears streaming down her face. “What happened to me?”
“Mi figlio,” she whimpered. “There was an attack at the house, and you were injured badly. You had a bleed to the brain, and they had to go in to stop it.”
I can feel the heat rising from my toes from the anger building up.
“Who was it?”
“Vincent Giordano.”
That son of a b***h. I will kill him for this, once and for all.
“Was anyone hurt?”
She started sobbing uncontrollably and I held her in a comforting embrace.
“Th-they t-took N-Naomi.”
What?
“Who’s that Lina?”
She stopped sobbing and looked at me in shock. She started explaining everything from meeting her at Say Striptease to talking in the kitchen on the day of the attack. It all came back to me so quickly my head hurt. Now I’m not just angry at Vincent, I’m also angry at myself. How the f**k could I forget Naomi. She’s the first girl I’ve ever loved. For the first time since my parents died, tears start rolling down my face. I could feel Lina delicately wrap her arms around me and I hugged her back. I sat and cried for a long time. I will find Naomi and reign hell on Vincent for what he has done.
After I have calmed down, I ask Lina to get me my phone and I call Alec and he answers immediately.
“Oh mio dio, Elias we have been so worried about you. How are you feeling?”
“I will be fine Alec. I always am. What have you been doing about finding Naomi?”
The line goes silent and I look at the phone thinking it has gone silent, but it still says I’m on a call.
“Alec,” I growl through gritted teeth, “what have you been doing?”
“Honestly boss, no.”
The anger is building up inside me again, but now I’m angry at my members. Especially him.
“Are you actually f*****g kidding me, Alec? Why have you not even started locating her yet?”
“We were more worried about whether you were gonna survive the attack.”
I can’t fault him for that, but that doesn’t make me any less angry.
“f*****g. Find. Her. Now,” I grit out.
I immediately hang up for him to start doing what I ask, and I lie back. What has happened to my bella?
I think about how many ways I will torture and kill Vincent when I find him. I will get her back no matter what I must do.
3 YEARS LATER
It’s been three years, to the day, since I last seen my bella, and the next moments broke me. Alec rings me and I answer straight away.
“What have you found?” I shout.
There is a moment of silence on the other line before he finally says, “She has moved on.”
This news took me by surprise. “What the f**k do you mean she has moved on Alec?” I shout.
“I’m so sorry, Elias, but she was smiling and laughing in Vincent’s arms when we found her.”
I throw my phone across my home office and immediately stomp out and went to my gym. I start punching my boxing bag so hard and fast until my fists are bloodied and raw. I hear the door open and someone shouting at me, but I don’t hear them as my sadness finally overcomes me and I fall to my knees. I feel someone wrap their arms around me, who I assume is Lina, and I just stay there, tears running down my face, letting her hold me. After my tears stop, I untangle Lina from me and stand, my heart now filled with unimaginable anger.
“I will no longer cry over that b***h,” I say coolly, “and I will find her and Vincent and kill them both.”
I can see the shock on Lina’s face. “Who are you talking about?” she sobs.
“Alec found Naomi, and she was wrapped around Vincent, smiling and laughing.”
She looked to the side, but I could still see her face. She was confused.
“Did you hear me, Lina? She was f*****g wrapped around him laughing and SMILING!”
She looked at me, brows furrowed, and lips pursed. “There’s no way that’s true.” She says finally.
I could feel the anger burning up inside me at her statement. “Do you really think Alec would lie to me?” I shouted.
She stepped back, fear eminent in her expression, and walked away. Before she left the gym, she turned back to me with a sadness overwhelming her face and said, “I never said he was a liar, I just think that not everything is what it seems.”
I watched her leave without giving me a chance for a comeback and the anger inside me became unbearable. I walked towards all the machines and weights I had and continued to exercise to the point where I was in absolute agony, and my anger had somewhat subsided for now. I quickly grab a shower, get dressed, go back to my office and call Alec.
He picks up quickly and before he could say anything I say, “Tell me where they are”
“They’re in Sicily.”
“Good. In a month so will all of us, and we will destroy them both.”
