Chapter 33 - Prom Night (III)

After getting tired of breathing the night air, Rudy closed the window again and

walked towards Kurenai and the others gathered. There were Kurenai, Almira, Ti Shian, Sarah, and Hideo. They all sat at the same table.

"Oh, big brother came? Same with Kurenai, huh?"

"Wh-Why does Mira know about that?"

"Of course, you're acquaintances, right, at this school it's just us. Besides, you who don't have a boyfriend but will promise to bring a girlfriend here so you won't get caught.

The other guys were obvious. Did you guys make an appointment?"

Hearing Mira's complete reply, Kurenai's facial expression turned bright red. A puff of imaginary white smoke was also seen by his friends. Rudy couldn't help but chuckle at Kurenai's behavior.

Rudy took a seat next to Hideo, they didn't mind.

The six of them talked to each other about various things. Sometimes talking about activities at school, the difficulty of taking care of the house alone, the delicious food made by Rudy, romantic life, and some things about Axie Online.

"You guys already know there's a Monstrous Invasion Event?"

"Ah, the event that just started about an hour ago, huh? I've seen online Axie News, it says monster invasion, huh?"

"Yes, I know from the discussion on the Axie Forum."

Unknowingly, the six of them, who are Axie Online players, had a discussion and a meeting in the middle of this noisy party. They discussed how to defend against the onslaught of monstrous attacks.

Through Axie News, Ti Shian learned that there were approximately 10,000 mob monsters under level 30 that had invaded Livetuna City. Hideo also obtained more or less the same information from his friends in Axie Online.

For a novice player like Rudy, some mob monsters under level 30 should still be quite strong and difficult to handle. Even though his level has risen to above 30, it doesn't mean he can handle several monsters at once. The level is still very lacking to handle this.

However, considering that Rudy has earned many titles that have drastically increased his status points, he feels that he can join the defense forces in Livetuna City. He is confident that he can face several monsters at once using his sword skills and the Hollow Swords skill which creates five sword shadows that can be controlled within a certain distance.

"By the way Shian, you have the Job Class Dual Swordsman, right?"

"Yeah, why is that?"

“You also got the Dual Wielding Skill Emblem?”

"Of course, otherwise I can't take the Dual Swordsman Class Job."

Rudy held his chin thinking about some things that could be used efficiently in the battle later. After going through the fight against the Minotaur Boss in the Lafos cave, Rudy knew that his Iron Sword +4 sword was almost destroyed and couldn't be used for as long as before.

If Rudy had insisted on using his +4 Iron Sword in that battle, the sword would have been destroyed in less than five minutes. Even though the sword was indeed nearing its end, Rudy didn't really feel sorry for it now.

Rudy already has two new swords as replacements, the Sword of Cold obtained from Lafos Cave and the black sword from Nezile's quest reward. Rudy can use the Sword of Cold as his main weapon, but he is still curious about the black sword.

"Shian, is it possible for a player to use two weapons at once without having the Dual Wielding skill?"

"Ah, you mean Self Dual Wielding brother?"

Rudy slightly frowned upon hearing Shian's reply.

"Can you explain about that?"

"Sure. Self Dual Wielding is an automatic skill from the game system that will be used after the player wields two weapons at once. But different from ordinary Dual Wielding skills, Self Dual Wielding has a usage limit."

"Use limit?"

"Yes. Whereas regular Dual Wielding is a passive skill that allows players to use two weapons at the same time indefinitely, then Self Dual Wielding has a duration limit."

Rudy started to nod slowly at Shian's explanation. He did not think that actually, every player could use two weapons at once without the need to have Dual Wielding skill. If what Shian said was true, then his chances of participating in restraining the monsters that attacked Livetuna City would increase.

"Self Dual Wielding only lasts ten minutes as long as the player uses both weapons simultaneously. The cooldown itself takes an hour."

“One hour… isn't that too long?”

Hearing the further explanation, Rudy dropped his chin in disappointment. Even though he was happy because there was an automatic skill system, the long cooldown made him stop using two swords at once.

"What if I use it beyond that duration?"

"Other than the weapons that you hold in your right and left hands, everything will be disarmed automatically. If you want to pick it up again for battle, the weapon will be thrown again and the hand of big brother who wants to take it is attacked by a light electric shock. You could say, the weapon is no longer usable!"

Rudy subconsciously clicked his tongue knowing what would happen if he decided to use Self Dual Wielding beyond the duration set by the in-game system. Rudy actually wanted to use two swords at once to test the ability of his two-sword technique which he had not tried in a long time.

The usage limit is ten minutes and the cooldown duration is one hour, that's long enough.

Besides Iron Sword +4, Rudy still has two other swords in his Axie Online game, namely Sword of Cold and a mysterious black sword that was the result of completing a Quest from Nezile. Rudy wasn't really interested in the Sword of Cold which he got as a drop item from the Ice Golem, he was even more curious about the black sword.

When he gets to the apartment, Rudy wants to jump straight into the Axie Online game and try his new black sword as well as Sword of Cold. This is because Iron Sword's +4 Durability status has reached the stage of destruction after fighting the Dungeon Boss in Lafos cave, Minotaur.

Did Rudy forget another sword he had before he got the Sword of Cold? A sword that was a gift from the game system as a bonus when reaching level 10? A sword called Ironforge Sword with a decent Damage and Durability point status for new players at level 10. Unfortunately, that level has long been passed by Rudy.

"Okay, I think exchanging information on Axie Online will only end here, the prom night party will be over soon."

"Ah that's right, I didn't notice."

The five teenagers who were students immediately realized that the song sung by the musician sounded mellow and soft to the ear, only Rudy was aware of this. It was agreed that the mellow song would be played by the musicians when the event was nearing the final stage, that's what Rudy heard from Kurenai.

They also closed the Axie Online information exchange session and walked together to the center of the room to dance. Hideo and Sarah, Ti Shian with Mira, while Rudy took Kurenai. The six of them began to dance softly to the music performed by the musicians.

Seeing this scene, the young people present at the party focused their attention on the three couples who were dancing gracefully in the center of the room. They were astonished to witness a rare sight that was rarely seen.

While all the attention of the guests was centered on them, Rudy and the others seemed unconcerned and continued to dance to enjoy this rare moment. Especially Rudy, he seems to really enjoy every movement he makes and the music he hears.
