Chapter 71 - Dunk

1184 Words
Rudy and Dunk's meeting which was started by a misunderstanding has developed into a relationship that can be said to be quite strange. Even though Dunk is actually a more veteran player than Rudy, his level and status are still far below Rudy's due to the drop in level by the death penalty. "Can you unfollow me?" "No! I decided to follow you, master!" 'Masters?' Rudy's face wrinkled slightly when he heard the title 'Master' pinned by this player with yellow-blonde hair Elf race. He doesn't like being called by strange names by people he doesn't know or doesn't know well. After the clichéd encounter between Rudy and Dunk caused by a pair of Zombie Knights, Dunk considers Rudy his savior and protector with eyes and admiration that sparkle like a morning star at dusk. That's because Rudy always slaughters the Undead he sees, but Dunk misinterprets Rudy's actions as a form of protection for him. Rudy, who was followed by Dunk from behind, started to feel restless and uncomfortable. He is not a person who likes to seek and attract attention, he prefers to be alone even among his study groups in class. He wanted to tell Dunk to stop staring at him, only that he was too busy with hordes of Undead level 50s without Dunk's help. Of course that pissed him off. While resting his body and recovering his stamina, Rudy made several HP Potion I which made Dunk even more unable to take his eyes off this shiny silver-haired player. “Master, how did you get the ability to make potions when your fighting ability is so amazing?” "I just got it by accident. One more thing, don't call me Master." "All right, Master!" There was some kind of veins on Rudy's temples, but he took a deep breath in order to maintain the balance of his emotions that peaked at the crown. He didn't really like and was comfortable with Dunk's presence who was always watching him with enthusiasm and sparkling eyes. A moment later Rudy sighed again, then looked back at Dunk. "Why did you follow me? Didn't you have a purpose in coming here? Also, why do you call me master?" Dunk was surprised to get a really questioning question about him from Rudy, but he immediately answered it with high spirits and passion. "I followed you because I wanted to see your fighting skills! If my purpose here was to increase my level and strength, nothing else! Since you are a person of great skill, that's why I call you a master!" 'In the end, he only answered the three questions I asked without explanation.' Rudy sighed again hearing Dunk's answer. He put all the HP Potion I that he had made into his Inventory, then fiddled with the semi-transparent panel that appeared in front of him. In an instant, a similar panel appeared in front of Dunk which made his eyes widen. "Master, what is this?" "Party invitation, you don't know?"  "That's not it. Why does Master want to play at a party with me?" "We'll be in the same party until you can take on several level 80's Undead at once. I've implemented a 75%-25% Exp Split system in this party." After saying that, Rudy took out a dozen HP Potion I and gave it to Dunk for free, making the player with the Martial Artist Job class widen. How can a player give dozens of HP Potion I just like that without saying anything? "Master-" "Keep it, you'll need it more than me." Without waiting for Dunk to finish his sentence, Rudy immediately answered the question that was roughly asked by a player who almost got penalized for a moment. Dunk can only nod and save all the HP Potions | Rudy's gift after thanking him. *** A few minutes after resting to recover HP and stamina, Rudy moved back to Ambora Temple. This time he was accompanied by Dunk who walked right behind him. With Dunk, his journey through parts of the temple containing the Undead became easier. The deeper they entered the temple, the more Undead and traps ambushed them. Luckily Rudy had a little experience with traps so he didn't get hit in the slightest. On the other hand, Dunk, who is a muscle brain, immediately charged forward without regard to the possible traps. Thanks to his stupidity, he was almost killed by Rudy several times. But Dunk didn't fall into a trap, he destroyed the trap instantly using the fire elemental abilities of his Elemental Rune. That's why he always survived dozens of traps that should have killed ordinary players long ago. Seeing Dunk's great Elemental Rune ability, Rudy couldn't help but caress his chest while crying in his heart and said 'why did I bother to dodge that trap when this guy barbarically destroyed all the traps when he found out. "Dunk, may I ask a question?" "What's that?" "Where did you get the Elemental Runes from? It's rare to see them." "Oh, this, huh? I got it in the Five Seasons Dungeon." 'Dungeon Fives?' Rudy's eyes widened instantly when he heard the name of the Limasa Dungeon. How come? The Five Great Dungeons was one of the Five Great Dungeons which was the five most difficult Dungeons on the Plainfest continent. How could someone as weak and low-level as this Dunk be able to enter the Five Seasons Dungeon? At least that's what Rudy thinks right now. Rudy didn't seem to really care about Dunk, but he did pay attention to Dunk walking behind him quite often. How to fight, his stance, his vigilance, his technique, and so on. Rudy was taken aback when he saw the strong and flexible movements that came out of every member of Dunk's body. In that instant, Rudy concluded that Dunk was not only a player but also as capable in the real world as he was. Even though Rudy didn't consider himself a highly skilled player, at least he still admitted that he had some sword skills brought over from the real world. Rudy saw Dunk's movement was not just a wild move like himself, but really technical. That shows that Dunk in the real world is a martial artist or former. However, that didn't answer the question of how Dunk could reach the Five Season Dungeon at his still low level. "H-How did you enter the Five Seasons Dungeon?" "With the party that dumped me now." Rudy tilted his head for a moment when he heard the words 'party' and 'now'. It made him think, is Dunk a veteran player who has experienced a drastic decrease in level and ability? If that's true, then it's best not to ask the person concerned. Why? Of course, it's a sensitive issue for him, so what else? Rudy who was an ordinary Swordsman against Dunk who was a Martial Art Job Class player with Elemental Rune ability? Even though Rudy could beat him, it would still be troublesome if he had to fight in a narrow and dangerous place like this.
