Chapter 41 - Ramsey

After eliminating several monsters that seemed to be reconnaissance troops from the monster side, Rudy started to deactivate his Black Form and sat down to rest to recover the strength he had lost in the fight earlier. There was still the possibility of other monsters hiding around the forest so Rudy decided to rest to save stamina.

While resting, Rudy checked the contents of his Inventory which had been filled with several junk item drops from the previous battle. While looking around, Rudy saw something that caught his attention.

'Oh, this is the glass ball the Goblin used earlier, isn't it?'

Rudy slightly paid attention to the glass ball that was being held with great care. In the center of the glass ball, you can see a small red flame blazing. The orb was really the glass ball that the Goblin that was defeated in that single s***h was holding earlier.

Skill Orb is one of the rare items that are often sought after by many players in Axie Online. Why? That's because the Skill Orb is capable of sealing a given magic skill and can be ejected when the user wants it.

Different from Blackstar Sword's Magic Devour, Skill Orb can only be used if the item has been given a special magic skill and usually this is very rare and difficult to do. The only ones who can refill magic skills on an empty Skill Orb are only players or NPCs with the Arcanist Job Class, and of course the in-game system.

Arcanist is a Silver-Class Job Class which is an advanced Job Class from Enchanter. Players with the Arcanist Job Class were able to grant Enchant and buff effects to various equipment. This Job Class is quite great for players who fill support roles and actually quite a lot of players have this Job Class.

Moreover, if a player who has an Arcanist Job Class manages to reach the Gold-Class level and becomes an Arcanemaster, the player can give buff effects and Enchantments to inanimate objects and ordinary materials such as chairs, cloth, stones, nails, and so on. Unfortunately, there is only one player who has managed to become an Arcanemaster since Axie Online was officially released and his name is very well known as one of the Hundred Best Players.

'Playmore', that's the name of the only player who has the Arcanemaster Job Class to date. No one has been able to match him in terms of his Arcane Arts skills that are already at the maximum level.

The higher the Arcane Arts skill level an Arcanist has, the more Chances the Skill Orb can get. The Chance contained in the Skill Orb itself is the number of skills that can be issued by the Skill Orb, then the cooldown is not for refilling the Chance, but as the duration of preparation time for releasing skills on the Skill Orb.

Due to its round shape and being made of glass, the only skills that could be sealed in the Skill Orb were Magic and Chant type magic skills. So if the Skill Orb is in Rudy's hands, this will increase his efficiency in fighting.

"Disposable item, huh? Well, I guess it's fine since it looks quite useful."

About 15 meters from Rudy there was an explosion that made the ground around it lift slightly and dust flew to cover the shape of what had just fallen. After a few seconds, the dust covering the scene disappeared and revealed a creature.

Rudy could see it, it was a player with red hair burning as fire combed to the right, eyes that were also the same color, about the same height as him, wearing metallic black special Gloves, and looking very excited.

"Ramsey has arrived! Where's the monster looking for trouble, huh!?"

The player makes a pose with his right hand clenched in front of his chest while shouting embarrassing sentences. Rudy could only stare at the player with a flat gaze but watched him as closely as possible.

Rudy also felt something familiar from this player from language style and expression. The same thing was done by the player who called himself Ramsey so that they glared at each other.

Moments later, the two of them widened their eyes simultaneously with a slightly loud voice that disturbed the calm atmosphere of the night in the forest.

"Yo-You Rudy!?"

The index fingers of each are pointed forward pointing at each other. Those who were both utterly shocked were inadvertently making an inexplicably strange expression.

Rudy and Ramsey started laughing together. They never met or told the name of the game in Axie Online, but they could still meet each other in this vast world.

Ramsey, Harris in the real world. The Human race player, bright red hair, dark red eyes, and his expression looked very cheerful and excited. It's the opposite of Rudy, who often looks lethargic and uninspired.

Judging from his appearance, it could be said that Ramsey chose a Martial Artist Class Job that relied on his body and martial techniques in battle. It can be known from seeing his appearance wearing black Gloves, as well as the iron chest armor that protects his Critical Zone.

Gloves are indeed different from Gauntlets and Boots which are usually worn by classy players such as Martial Artists or Monks, but their function is actually the same. The difference between the two is only in the status of points and weight.

Gloves at first glance cannot withstand enemy attacks or deal with major attacks, but their attacks will become lighter and faster so that the player's Dexterity point status will not be disturbed when wearing them. Gloves are special gloves for players whose fighting style relies on their own bodies. These gloves have Strength, Defend, and Durability status points at the same time as Gauntlets and Boots, then prevent the player's Health Points from decreasing each time they attack.

From above Ramsey's head, suddenly a creature with four legs, brown hair striped with gold stripes, mustache, two tails, and has a pair of white wings like the wings of a bird from the sky. The figure started to land right next to Ramsey.

The figure that landed beside Ramsey took the form of a giant winged cat about seven meters from tip to tip of the tail and about two meters in height. Ramsey stroked the winged cat's head which seemed to be asking for affection from its master.

"This is Gordon, one of the rare Azure Cath-type monsters. He's my Pet."

"A-ah, Pet, huh? It turns out there is a P-Pet like this?"

Rudy could not utter another sentence because it was the first time he had seen a cat this big, let alone equipped with a pair of wings. He was really shocked when he saw a giant cat-like Gordon.

"Hmm? Rudy, what are you doing? Your face is very pale."

Rudy couldn't move from his spot and only showed a sour expression that was starting to turn pale with blood loss. Ramsey who suddenly panicked and confused could not do anything because this was the first time he saw Rudy's weak side in the real world.
