Chapter 76 - The Anarchy Lord

1336 Words
"Roar!!" A loud roar that boomed like a bolt of lightning filled Rudy's and Dunk's ears even though both of them had tried to muffle the sound by covering their ears. Rudy and Dunk were both shocked to realize that this room was actually occupied by a creature that was one of the strongest races in the world of Axie Online. The Dragon Race is one of the strongest races in the history of Axie Online and is the rarest monster race that has been seen since Axie Online was first released. Until now, the news of the sightings of the Dragon race has only been heard no more than five times throughout the history of Axie Online. The nickname attached to the Dragon race in Axie Online is Lord of the Sky because they are the only ones who are able to fly freely with terrible power that makes their existence the same as modern tanks that can fly. What's more, they were respected not only for their terrifying strength but the minimum level for Dragons was 300 with strength like a Dungeon Boss. There has never been any news that players can defeat the Dragon race alone, even though there have been no more than five sightings of the Dragon race in the history of the release of Axie Online, only in one of these four sightings was their news that the Dragon race could be defeated. But defeating the Dragon race is not as easy as one might think. In order to successfully defeat the Dragons who accidentally attacked their base, a Legion called East Paradise had to take so many losses that it lowered their position from being in the top eight of the Legion Top Rank to position fifty. Even though East Paradise's name had become very famous since then for having defeated the Dragon race, in fact, their strength had decreased drastically, and could not even rank in the top 30 of the Legion Top Rank. This of course makes many players not so interested in joining it. Rudy's face became very wry, not much different from Dunk, who looked very scared and couldn't stop shaking. They must have heard rumors of how powerful the Dragon race was in all the news they could get their hands on—especially Dunk, but against a Dragon when it was still at this low level? It would only bring instant death. As the two of them looked so frightened and stiff that they couldn't move, the five-meter tall giant creature let out a fire breath that was so hot and powerful towards the two players. Seeing that, Rudy immediately realized his fear and ran while pulling Dunk who was frozen in place to avoid the attack. Swoosh! The burst of fire burned everything in front of him without exception. Rudy could see dozens of gold coins and several metallic items immediately melting into hot metallic liquid and disappearing from his sight. His eyes widened, he didn't expect the power of a simple burst to be so strong, let alone the physical strength or skill he possessed. Rudy then pulled Dunk down to hide under a mountain of gold coins and several other items while the Dragon's attention was distracted by the fire itself. Dunk let out a few sentences of low despair mumbling considering that this incident was beyond his control that this time he would surely die once again. The Dragon Race that was rumored to have been defeated by East Paradise was twenty meters tall, Rudy felt a little relieved to see that the size of the Dragon they were facing was now no more than five meters. Players' view of the five-meter Dragon race seemed to be small compared to the Dragons that East Paradise had fought against. Rudy racked his brains to survive this situation, but not a single idea crossed his mind. There was only one thing they could do to survive and that was to run and leave this room. But such a simple thing is not as easy as one thinks. Their opponent this time was the Dragon race nicknamed the Lord of the Sky, something as simple as escaping would not be as easy as one might think. At least in order to do this one of them would have to sacrifice so that one of them could get out of this place safely. The silver-haired player took a deep breath then whispered something to Dunk. "I'll distract him for a few seconds, you use that time to get out of this room as fast as you can." Dunk widened his eyes when he heard Rudy whisper. It never occurred to him that Rudy would intend to do something like that after considering Axie Online doesn't have a feature like a painkiller. Besides that Rudy intends to sacrifice himself just for the sake of a player who has not been known for a long time? That's an illogical reason. Before Dunk refuted his words, Rudy first cut Dunk's words that hadn't even left his lips. "I'm not doing this for you, but to add to my experience. I know I won't be able to survive this Dragon, but I can at least gauge how high a level creature's ability is on par with a professional player." Rudy just gave Dunk a small smile then got up from his prone position and ran as fast as he could to the other side of the room making the Dragon's attention turn to him. While Rudy had left without letting himself utter a word or two, Dunk could only hold back his emotion and admiration for the figure he considered the greatest person he had ever met in Axie Online. Seeing Rudy flying at such a high speed, the Dragon immediately launched other attacks in the form of bursts of fire. It's just that this burst of fire is not like the previous one in the form of an ordinary fire breath. These bursts of fire are managed first for a few moments and are released in the form of several car-sized fireballs at high speed. Rudy can see all the paths of the fireballs that lead to him with the help of Adrenaline Mode so he can avoid all of them without any major difficulties. Dunk who was watching from a prone position under the mountain of gold coins could only be stunned by Rudy's agility. "Dunk, get out of this room while you can!" Hearing Rudy's screams echoing throughout the room, Dunk then came to his senses and got up, and ran as fast as he could to the exit. Even though it wasn't necessarily possible to get out of this Dungeon Chaos Lair safely, at least the chances of survival were still greater than being in that room with a Dragon which certainly couldn't be matched alone by any player right now. Rudy smiled with satisfaction to see Dunk managed to get out of this room without any problems, while the Dragon himself snorted in annoyance that his attention was distracted to let a fly escape from him. But he didn't seem to think about it any further, after all, flies were just small animals that could be crushed at any moment. After Dunk left the room, Rudy turned his eyes to look at this giant and mighty creature. He then pulled the Goblin Killing Sword from his back activating Self Dual Wielding, then exerted all his abilities. Even though his struggle will look futile, at least Rudy can get a pretty good experience thanks to fighting against a Dragon who is greatly feared by many players and the original NPCs of the Axie Online world. He focused his gaze on the Dragon so that a small panel that listed the creature's name and level appeared. -- Arshwind – The Anarchy Lord Level: 500 -- When Rudy saw the level possessed by the Dragon he could only gulp without hoping that he would survive.
