Chapter 40 - Black Form

An explosion and a small vibration shook the place where Rudy was standing.

"Huaah, I almost K.O for an instant."

Luckily Rudy was able to dodge at the last moment so he wasn't badly hit. Just imagine if Rudy couldn't dodge, maybe he would have been razed to the ground.

After dodging, Rudy began to notice the figure of the monster that attacked him first. From the sound and size of the shadow, it was most likely a giant race like Giant or Troll.

As expected, the attacking figure was an NPC with the Troll race. One of the available races for players to choose as their race when they first enter the world of Axie Online.

Trolls are one of the giant races in Axie Online that can reach three meters in height. Normally these races were endowed with high Strength and Vitality stats, but their Dexterity and Intelligence were extremely low.

The Troll Race is usually a race that is often viewed as a monster and is not very liked by NPCs of any race. Because the mob monsters with the Troll race are usually very barbaric and like to destroy anything in front of them so they are almost not accepted by any NPC.

The troll in front of Rudy was currently a human-like shape about two and a half meters tall, pale skin, thin but distended, wore a piece of brown cloth around his waist, and carried a large wooden club. This troll has a level of 30 to '40s.

“Trolls, huh? Its high strength and vitality, then its resistance to fire is also quite troublesome.”

Even though Rudy wasn't a Mage Job Class player or anything like that, he could take advantage of the fireballs thrown by other monsters. Rudy also knew that the Troll in front of him was the one that used the fire magic skill earlier, but another monster with roughly high Intelligence status with a Mage Class Job or the like.

Could it be the Goblin Shaman? The possibility was quite high considering that the Goblins and Hobgoblins had already taken control of the Wolf Plain near Livetuna City. But when it comes to possibilities, the biggest chance is a monster with a Hunter Class Job that has fire elemental magic skills.

Haunter is a Bronze-Class Job Class similar to Mage and Enchanter, but the difference is Haunter is a Job Class that relies on help from spirits to attack or defend against enemies. But not some kind of Necromancer. The ghost that surprised Rudy earlier was one of the basic Haunter class magic skills.

"Roar!"

The troll again swung its wooden club vertically to target Rudy, but due to his slow movement, the target had already moved away. As a result, the slow, powerful attack only destroyed the place where Rudy had been standing.

Rudy, who didn't want to miss this golden opportunity, landed three slashes with Swing in seven seconds. For a player with a Job Class like Swordsman whose stats were centered on Strength and Dexterity, fighting low-speed monsters was fine.

Unfortunately, the three attacks that accompanied the Swing did not have such a big impact. Rudy can see that the Troll's Health Bar is only reduced by about 6%. He could only click his tongue to see this unfortunate situation for him.

The Hollow Swords surrounding him had disappeared before the Trolls attacked, and until now the cooldown of his skill had not been completed. This makes Rudy a little difficult. Even though he has a very powerful Blackstar Sword for a beginner like himself, Rudy can only buy time while holding on to get the Buff effect of his sword to get stronger.

"Then there's no choice but to use that, huh?"

Rudy put on an annoyed expression knowing he was in a high level of trouble even just fighting a Troll. He knew there was only one way to drastically increase his strength. Yes, using the Bonus Skill given by Blackstar Sword, Black Form.

Rudy gripped the Blackstar tightly, then raised his voice.

"Black Form: On."

Immediately, the air around Rudy was blown violently, causing the grass, bushes, and tree branches to sway. It was seen that something black was spreading from Rudy's right palm that was holding the Blackstar Sword and spread to cover his body almost completely.

Rudy's current appearance looks like he's wearing a jet black cloak jacket that has small purple dots in places, but it doesn't look like an ordinary cloak jacket.

At the bottom end that dangled back almost touching the ground another ten centimeters was something black that radiated like fire in the sun. Not only at the ends, but on the shoulders and backs of his hands, there was also something similar.

It looks like black-colored energy gushing out from the cloak jacket.

It didn't stop there, Rudy's right eye began to change color. His whites turned black and his irises appeared darker than his left eye. Was this all the effect of using Blackstar Sword's Black Form Skill Bonus?

Rudy felt that something had changed in him so he decided to check his body first. Aside from appearance, he also felt much stronger than before. Rudy subconsciously curled his lips upwards revealing a happy smile.

Unfortunately, Rudy didn't have time to admire himself, the Troll had swung his wooden club vertically again at him. He realized this and immediately dodged because it was impossible to withstand such a powerful attack, or the Blackstar Sword's Durability status would immediately drop drastically.

Not only did Rudy dodge, but he also deployed a Flash Swing s***h that put himself behind the Troll in an instant.

Rudy who just realized he was already on the backside of the Troll was a little surprised. Since it was Rudy's first time trying out the Black Form's ability, it was no wonder he was surprised.

Rudy never knew that just getting an additional 50% in Strength and Dexterity status points could make a difference to this extent.

This made Rudy manage to regain his self-confidence which had faded earlier.

But not even a second after he slashed at the Troll, yet another ball of fire shot out of the shadow of the tree in the forest in front of him. Unfortunately, Rudy could see the path of the ball which then slashed it with the Blackstar Sword.

Through that s***h, the fireball that had almost hit Rudy disappeared was absorbed by the white-haired player's black sword. Rudy who has absorbed the fireball chooses to convert it into Energy so that his Energy bar recovers.

Rudy then turned around and gave five Swing slashes with all his might to the Troll behind him, then added five Hollow Swords slashes whose cooldown duration had expired.

In the end, Rudy started to combine the five shadow swords into one and took them with his left hand. He deals a 360-degree rotating attack accompanied by a Swing on his opponent's back.

Since Hollow Swords didn't include Equipment like swords, but a skill, the system didn't activate Self Dual Wielding.

After the circular s***h earlier, Rudy jumped as high as the Troll monster and swung the Blackstar Sword and Hollow Swords simultaneously to s***h the two-meter tall monster. As a result, the two halves of the Troll's right and left fell in opposite directions.

However, Rudy did not forget the one monster that had been lurking and preparing his fire attack from the forest. He immediately ran towards the exit of the fireball, chasing him into the forest.

In less than ten seconds, Rudy could see a Goblin with a Magic Staff and a transparent glass ball that contained red flames smoldering inside.

No need to investigate or waste time, Rudy immediately slashed his neck using the two swords that were currently gripped. Instantly the Goblin's head separated from his body and fell to the ground lifeless.
