My heart races as quickly as my legs will carry me, and the terror in my chest pounds like a merciless drum. I can't escape the image of Quania's transformation into a wendigo, and the thought that the woman responsible might be the queen makes me feel sick to my stomach. The dark forest whips past me, the trees towering over me like sentries. As I increase my effort, my breathing becomes more labored, and my heart rate increases.
