Clara followed Lucas outside the library, feeling a mix of curiosity and apprehension. He had told her that he wanted to show her something, something important, something that would change everything. He had also told her that he was sorry for what he had done, and that he still loved her. He had asked her to trust him, and to give him another chance. Clara didn't know what to think, or what to feel. She wanted to believe him, but she also wanted to hate him. She wanted to stay with him, but she also wanted to run away from him. She wanted to know the truth, but she also wanted to forget the lies.
They reached a black car parked in front of the school, and Lucas opened the door for her. He gestured for her to get in, and smiled at her. Clara hesitated, and looked at him. She saw his green eyes, and his charming smile. She felt a surge of attraction, and a pang of doubt. She wondered what he was hiding, and what he was planning. She wondered if he was sincere, or if he was manipulating her. She wondered if he was her friend, or her enemy. She wondered if she should go with him, or if she should stay away from him.
She decided to go with him. She decided to take the risk, and to face the consequences. She decided to follow her heart, and to ignore her mind. She decided to trust him, and to give him another chance. She decided to love him, and to hope for the best. She got in the car, and buckled her seatbelt. Lucas got in the driver's seat, and started the engine. He drove away from the school, and headed to the highway. He turned on the radio, and played some music. He looked at her, and winked at her. He said, "Don't worry, everything will be fine. I promise."
Clara nodded, and tried to relax. She looked out the window, and watched the scenery. She saw the trees, and the buildings, and the people. She saw the sun, and the sky, and the clouds. She saw the world, and the life, and the beauty. She felt a twinge of sadness, and a hint of nostalgia. She realized that she was leaving everything behind, and that she was entering a new realm. She realized that she was saying goodbye to her past, and that she was embracing her future. She realized that she was no longer human, and that she was becoming a vampire.
She turned to Lucas, and asked him, "Where are we going?" He smiled, and said, "We're going to meet someone. Someone very special. Someone who knows you better than anyone. Someone who can help you understand who you are, and what you can do. Someone who can make you happy, and powerful, and free. Someone who loves you more than anything. Someone who is your family."
Clara felt a surge of curiosity, and a pang of fear. She asked, "Who is it?" Lucas smiled, and said, "You'll see. You'll see soon enough. You'll see when we get there. You'll see when we meet your uncle."
Clara gasped, and felt a shock of surprise, and a jolt of dread. She asked, "My uncle? What uncle? I don't have an uncle. I only have my aunt and my uncle, and they're not really my relatives. They're just my guardians. They're just my foster parents. They're just my fake family."
Lucas shook his head, and said, "No, you have another uncle. You have a real uncle. You have a biological uncle. You have the only surviving member of your father's clan. You have the brother of Vlad Dracul. You have the lord of the Dracul bloodline. You have the master of the blood bond. You have the one and only, the legendary, the infamous, the mysterious, the powerful, the dangerous, the feared, the revered, the awesome, the terrible, the magnificent, the dreadful, the glorious, the horrifying, the amazing, the terrifying, the incredible, the horrifying, the astounding, the frightening, the wonderful, the dreadful, the marvelous, the monstrous, the splendid, the horrific, the fantastic, the dreadful, the fabulous, the dreadful, the dreadful, the dreadful, uncle Dracul."
Lucas drove for about an hour, until they reached a remote and secluded area. He turned off the highway, and followed a dirt road that led to a large and imposing mansion. He parked the car in front of the gate, and got out. He walked to the intercom, and pressed a button. He said, "It's me, Lucas. I'm here with Clara. We need to see uncle Dracul."
A voice answered, "Very well, Lucas. You may enter. But be careful, uncle Dracul is not in a good mood today. He's been expecting you for a long time, and he's not very patient."
The gate opened, and Lucas got back in the car. He drove through the gate, and stopped in front of the mansion. He looked at Clara, and said, "We're here. Are you ready?"
Clara nodded, and said, "I guess so. But I'm scared. What if he doesn't like me? What if he hates me? What if he hurts me?"
Lucas smiled, and said, "Don't worry, he won't do anything to you. He's your uncle, after all. He's your family. He loves you. He just has a strange way of showing it. Trust me, everything will be fine. I promise."
He got out of the car, and opened the door for her. He took her hand, and led her to the entrance. He knocked on the door, and waited. The door opened, and a man appeared. He was tall, dark, and handsome. He had black hair, and red eyes. He had a sharp nose, and a thin mouth. He had a pale skin, and a muscular body. He wore a black suit, and a red tie. He looked like a businessman, and a vampire. He looked like Lucas, and Dracul. He looked like her uncle.
He smiled, and said, "Hello, Lucas. Hello, Clara. I've been waiting for you. Welcome to my home. Welcome to your home. Welcome to the night. Welcome to your destiny. Welcome to the Dracul bloodline. Welcome to the blood bond. Welcome to your uncle Dracul."
