Chapter 4

810 Words
The sounds of the blood dripping from the face of the killer, as they ran down his face and landed on the floor, made me shiver. The sound was so familiar. Kacy and Trisha sat dead silent on the bed; even their breathing couldn't be heard. He stepped forward and I felt my world shake, but I didn't move. His slow heavy steps stalked towards me became quick and light. His hand gripped around my arm and tightened viciously. He turned to face the girls in bed, he showed them his malicious, half smirk and the silence was broken. They released a high pitch screech. There was no hero running into the room to save us, then again there was never a hero to save us. A game of tug of war began, he wouldn't release me. His strength out matched mine by far and he dragged me over the body and out the room. I turned to look back, in the room, my weak friends, struggling to save me but he was too fast. The house only rang with screams, no other noises. Bodies in each part of the house I was taken to. He pulled me to the lounge and released my throbbing arm. The pain didn't pull emotion from me. By now I was good at keeping that a bay. He walked past me and disappeared. It was a perfect moment to escape. I took my first step that would help me survive this nightmare, so I thought, but then the distinct noise of a rifle being loaded stopped me in my footsteps. He let an evil chuckle out and as I turned to face him, the gun pointed straight at me. My eyes instantly shut. I held my breath. I could hear more footsteps then a few things being dragged along the wooden floors. I stood waiting for the lead bullets to pierce my skin but nothing happened. I pushed my fear away and opened my eyes. In front of me were chairs and in them were people, tied and covered with black bags over their heads. They were alive. The bags stuck to their faces as they inhaled. The man paced behind the row of chairs as if he were enjoying each moment of what he was doing. Then he spoke in an aggressive tone. "Listen closely because I am not repeating myself. You going to tell me where Haden is and if I don't like your answer then I'm going shoot them one by one until I get the right answer. I think I should mention that the people sitting here could be really close to you so you wouldn't want to risk their lives, now do you? Good. Let's start" he stepped behind the first person, pointed his weapon and waited for an answer. This man is sadistic for sure. "I...I don't who Haden is, I don't know where he is so please stop". BANG! A shower of lead entered the first victim and the black bag stopped moving. He stepped behind second person, without ease and waited. Too shocked to move or talk, I fell to my knees on the wooden floor. That person died and I didn't know how I was going to save the others. I stared at the round black bag tilted to one side of his body, an image of Jai popped into my mind. There was a chance I had just killed Jai. The man stomped violently towards me, took a fistful of hair and pulled me to my feet. The pain radiated through me but I kept a straight face. He began screaming at me to tell him where Haden was. I don't know if my unresponsive face made him more furious but that was my trained face, I had in all other situations like this. He took the back of his rifle and launched it into my gut and I fell over gasping for air. The pain was immense, but not the worse I have been through. He raised the gun again, this time it came towards me from the side and hit me in the face. The blow was so massive that everything went blurry instantly, my head was ringing and I couldn't hear momentarily. He gave me a minute to recover but I kept slipping in and out of consciousness. He kicked his boot into my side to get me awake but only pain rushed through me. His impatience and anger were getting the better of him and pointed his gun to my head and said something that I couldn't comprehend with. His finger holding tightly on the trigger, I couldn't bear to look at the gun, my head was ringing. My eyes caught the piano and behind it...someone...Kale, he looked terrible. He approached the killer from behind and BANG! Everything went dark.
