Later that night he finally dropped me home, he walked me to my apartment door, neither of us wanted to say goodbye.
“You are smiling again?”
“I can’t help it,” I answered.
He stepped closer to me.
“So I make you happy?”
I laughed quietly.
“You already know you do.”
His hands rubbed gently against my waist.
“And you make me dangerous,” he said.
My heart began beating faster again.
There’s always something dark hidden under his romantic words.
But before I could think deeply about it, he kissed me again.
The kind of kiss that will leave your body weak.
When we finally pulled off, my lips entangled back.
“You should go inside now, before I change my mind and keep you with me tonight,” he whispered while kissing my forehead.
I laughed softly.
“Goodnight, Adrain.”
“Goodnight my queen.”
I watched him walk back into his car.
And honestly, even the way he walked looked rich.
The moment I entered my apartment, I screamed happily into the pillow like a crazy person.
I brought out my phone and called Clara.
She answered instantly.
“TELL ME EVERYTHING.”
I burst into laughter.
“Can you let me breathe first?”
“No!” She said,
I fell dramatically into my bed smiling hard.
“Clara”
“What happened?!”
“He told me to stop working.”
Clara suddenly shouted, “EH?!”
I laughed harder.
“He said he didn’t want his wife to work in a café and people staring at her.”
Clara screamed so loudly that I had to pull the phone away from my ear.
FUTURE WIFE?!”
“And he said, he’s paying every single month.”
Clara let out another scream.
“ELENA HART, YOU DON WIN FOR LIFE!”
I buried my face inside my pillow laughing helplessly.
“Clara, I’m serious, I think I am truly in love with him.”
Her voice softened immediately.
“The real kind?”
I smiled
“The fake kind.”
“Clara, you’ve never for once been serious.”
Clara laughed.
“Awwwnn.”
“And he kissed me again,” I said.
“Okay, forget everything and marry him immediately,” Martha said jokingly.
I laughed until my stomach hurt.
After the call ended, I plugged my phone into the charger, and then i slowly walked toward my mirror
I looked so happy, loved and soft.
And life finally felt beautiful.
I climbed into my bed smiling peacefully.
A few seconds later, my phone buzzed beside me. I picked it up.
A picked it up and just as I expected a message from Adrain.
I opened it immediately.
Sleep well my queen.
I was smiling subconsciously till I slept off.
The next morning started like every other morning started recently with Adrain.
Before I even opened my eyes, I was already smiling.
Then I remembered why, I quickly grabbed my phone from beside my bed.
Three messages from Adrain.
Good morning, my queen.
Eat breakfast and stop smiling at your phone alone.
I say up and start laughing.
“How does this man know everything?” I whispered to myself.
I quickly replied.
You sound like you’re beside me.
Almost immediately his reply came.
I wish I was.
“Oh.. this man again,” I said to myself.

Later that afternoon, after it stopped raining, Adrain came over to my apartment.
I spent over an hour cleaning up everywhere in my house.
Not that there was much to clean, and my apartment was very small.
Still, I cleaned the table, fixed my old couch, and I arranged things over and over again.
I took my bath and changed clothes.
After waiting for over 30 minutes, I got tired.
“Forget it,” I whispered.
Then suddenly, I heard a knock on my door.
My heart skipped, I rushed towards the door quickly.
I opened the door and I was surprised.
Adrain stood there, dark and his sleeves folded up, silver watch, and he smelt so good.
“How long have you been standing there?” He asked, not trying to laugh.
I blinked, “Huh.”
“You were staring.”
My eyes widened.
I covered my face quickly.
“Oh my God.”
He laughed softly and went inside my apartment.
But after entering, he slowly moved his eyes around my apartment.
The cracked walls, old paints and the tiny kitchen
Then he looked at the water stained couch.
I felt so embarrassed.
And for the first time meeting Adrain, I felt so small and poor.
I looked down quietly.
“It’s not much.”
Adrain immediately turned towards me.
“Elena.”
I looked up slowly.
He gently touched my cheek.
“Never be ashamed in front of me.” He said.
I was a bit relieved, because he didn’t sound sorry for me.
He sounded serious.
Then suddenly, water from the leaked roof landed on Adrian's shoulder.
I frozed, and my eyes widened in horror.
Oh no, not today, not now , this stupid roof just decided to disgrace me. My heart was racing.
I wished the ground would open and swallow me.
I wanted to disappear, but Adrain simply looked up then looked back at me and smiled.
“Interesting weather”, he said.
I stared at him.
“Is that all you wanted to say?”
“What should I say?” He asked.
I folded my arms “you’re pretending.”
He lifted his eyes, “pretending about what?”
“That you didn’t notice.”
He walked close to me slowly, very close, and he touched my nose gently.
“I noticed,”
I buried my face down.
“But I noticed you first, you look gorgeous my queen.”
And once again my heart betrayed me, I smiled so widely.
About thirty minutes later, Adrain looked at his phone and sighed deeply.
“Damn,” he screamed.
I looked quickly at him.
“What happened?”
He sighed.
“Urgent meeting.”
I blinked.
“Now?”
He frowned.
“Yes.”
I pouted immediately.
“Not fair.”
Immediately, his face softened.
“Awwwnn.”
I opened my eyes.
“Don’t awwwnn me.”
He laughed, and kissed my forehead.
“I’ll make it up to you.”
I dramatically crossed my arms.
“I’m angry.”
“You look so cute when you’re angry,” he teased.
I rolled my eyes.
He kissed me again.
Slowly and sweetly then he left.
And suddenly my apartment felt empty again.
Extremely empty.

About forty minutes later, my phone suddenly rang.
An unknown number.
I frowned as I picked the call.
“Hello?”
“Miss Elena?!”
My whole body froze immediately.
The voice sounded so scared and panicked.
“Are you Adrian Vale's girlfriend?”
My heart dropped.
“Yes.”
“Please come quickly! Mr. Adrian Vale collapsed.”
Everywhere around me stopped.
“WHAT?”
My body suddenly became weak.
The man quickly gave me an address.
