Episode 13: Unforgettable Regrets

Daisy: There are two paths of forgetting; these are moving on and moving forward, these paths have differences. When you choose to move on, you are still carrying the pain of your heart and soul but when you choose to move forward, you're looking for the new version of yourself after the pain. To forget is not easy. Additionally, it's even a long journey. Pain is just temporary. Thus, patience is necessary. These are the things I have learned when my parents were murdered. I left alone too but instead of losing hope, I chose to be strong enough.

These are Daisy's words when she's trying to comfort Elisa from crying and sadness due to her father's death.

Elisa: So, what should I do then? I don't have that courage like yours.

Daisy: You don't need to have the courage as I have, you just need to trust and believe in yourself.

Elisa: I wish it could be easy, it's really hard to accept how my father got murdered. No suspect found, it seems no justice to expect. It really hurts like hell.

Daisy: There is no justice in hell. No truth or even mercy.

These are Daisy's words on her mind when she remembered the night when she found Atty. Cruz stabbed to death in an abandoned multi-storey car park.

Daisy: Your father once told me, when things get heavy, go and travel anywhere, go and find yourself. That's why you have to take the road of moving forward.

Daisy embraced Elisa while in front of Atty. Cruz's grave. However, this is just her emotional manipulation to find Atty. Cruz's secret house.

Daisy: If you need someone to talk, I'm just here Elisa. I'm willing to help you.

Daisy's eyes from sadness suddenly became sharp while hugging Elisa which tells that her plans to find Atty. Cruz's secret house should not be failed.

Meanwhile, Col. Rogelio Bautista visits in Salvatierra Mansion.

In the council room, the three of them Rogelio, Veronica and Ronaldo are discussing about Arjun's confession letter.

Rogelio: When we investigated the crime scene, I saw this letter from Arjun's computer. He was about to make a confession during his declaration of Escor Corp's bankruptcy that he laundered money to the terrorists for the bombing in town 3 years ago. It also stated that he even regretted joining the secret terrorist organization called SCORPIA.

Rogelio showed the photo he took from Arjun's computer regarding the confession letter.

Veronica was startled when she saw the confession letter.

Veronica: This will expose our existence. Were you able to-

Rogelio: Yes! I was able to delete the file before anyone sees it in the crime scene.

Ronaldo wondered about the confession letter he read.

Ronaldo: A confession letter to prove Magda's innocence from the terrorist attack 3 years ago? What does this mean?

Rogelio: It means that someone out there is trying to expose our brotherhood that we exist in this country and that we were behind the explosion of San Ildefonso.

After Veronica reads the letter, she remembered the night before Arjun's death.

***Flashback***

That night, Veronica called her henchman to check the SCORPIA's funds on Arjun's account at Escor Corp's office after the financial mismanagement issue.

Veronica: I want you to go to Escor Corp tonight and check the funds on Arjun's device.

When Daisy left Escor Corp, Veronica's henchman came and looked for Arjun's office.

Arjun's confession letter was finalized and this will expose the existence of SCORPIA as a secret mafia in the country and Magda Soliman as innocent of the bombings in San Ildefonso City which happened 3 years ago that killed thousands of people. Afterward, Arjun went to the restroom and left his computer open.

Meanwhile, Veronica's henchman was able to find Arjun's office and he entered immediately since the door was not locked.

Instead of checking the funds of SCORPIA on Arjun's system, he first noticed the confession letter and called Veronica right away.

Henchman: Hello, Veronica

Veronica: How's the funds?

Henchman: It's not the funds you should be concerned about.

Veronica: Then what is it?

Henchman: It's about Arjun's confession letter.

Veronica: Confession letter for bankruptcy?

Henchman: A confession letter to expose the existence of SCORPIA in the country and also Magda's innocence of the deadly terrorist attack in San Ildefonso. He will confess everything during his declaration of bankruptcy.

Veronica: You have to stop him! If killing him is necessary, then do it!

Then Veronica dropped the call with fears that SCORPIA might be exposed if Arjun cannot be convinced to change his mind.

Unexpectedly, when Arjun returned to his office, he saw an unidentified man. This time, Arjun felt even more dangerous than his first encounter with Daisy.

But Veronica's henchman never used words to stop Arjun from making a confession. But rather, he directly tried to kill Arjun.

Arjun tried to escape the danger but he got no choice but to fight the unidentified man.

Then the two fought continuously until they reached the Penthouse of Escor Building. Unfortunately, it was at this juncture when Arjun got beaten up by Veronica's henchman and fell to his death.

Right after the incident, the henchman immediately called Veronica.

Henchman: Veronica!

Veronica heard her henchman's voice feeling out of breath.

Veronica: What happened?

Henchman: It's done! I already killed him!

Veronica's anxiety and fear somehow diminished as what she had heard from her henchman.

***End of Flashback***

Rogelio: In addition, it also says there that Atty. Emmanuel Cruz kept some documents that prove SCORPIA's presence in the country.

Ronaldo: Then we have to find them before it's too late!

Veronica: I asked you Col. to find Elisa Cruz, what happened?

Rogelio: Unfortunately, I was unable to contact her and find her home.

Ronaldo: Atty. Cruz has a secret house. Maybe we need to find that house.

An hour later, Daisy joins Elisa's condo unit for dinner.

Elisa: I just want to say thank you for lifting me up Daisy. Thank you for giving me hope.

Daisy: You're welcome Elisa. I'd just like to let you know how your father inspired me before by his uplifting words of encouragement, I just wanna share it back for you.

Elisa is nodding her head and smiling at Daisy while there's still sadness in her eyes.

Elisa: I appreciate that.

Elisa suddenly noticed that she forgot to prepare fruits for their dessert.

Elisa: Oops! Let me just get some fruit.

Daisy: I love fruits, thank you.

Elisa: Sure, just give me a moment.

When she approached the fridge to get some fruit, Daisy saw Elisa's phone with an incoming call from an unregistered number.

Daisy: Elisa? Someone is calling you.

Elisa: Who's calling?

While Elisa is busy preparing fruits for their desserts.

Daisy: The number is unregistered.

Elisa: Regrettably, I do not accept calls from an unknown number.

For the second time, the unknown number is calling again.

Daisy: It's calling again. I think you must answer it, maybe it's important.

But Elisa never listened to Daisy. After she prepared their desserts and went back to the table,

Elisa: Nothing or No more is important to me since my father died.

And for the third time, the unregistered number is calling again.

Daisy: Three tries mean something is crucial.

Elisa answers the call.

The voice sounds very familiar to her.

Daisy speculated further about what she had heard and one thing for sure, it has something to do with Atty. Cruz's secret house.

Veronica: Thank God, I'm so worried about you. Where are you by the way?

Elisa: At my condo unit, why?

Veronica: Who's with you?

Elisa: I'm with my friend tonight.

Elisa looks at Daisy when she said the word friend.

Veronica: Would you mind if I talk to you alone?

Elisa: S-sure!

Elisa gives Daisy a sign for a moment to entertain the call privately. Daisy nodded with a smile on her face while theorizing the words she had heard from Elisa.

Then Elisa went to the terrace of her condo unit to talk with Veronica privately.

Elisa: I am on my terrace right now.

Veronica: Thank you, Elisa.

Elisa: So, what is it, Tita Veronica?

Veronica: I just want to share this with you that the night before your father died, he asked me if I could put his private house on the market for your dreams to travel the whole world. I'm just wondering if you have any idea where his private house located? I just want to fulfill his request to pay respects. Maybe you can help me, Elisa?

Elisa hears the sadness of Veronica's voice on the phone.

Elisa: S-sure. It's the only Cabin House along San Narciso St. in Santa Barbara. Thank you for doing this for my father Tita Veronica.

Veronica: I'm doing this for your dreams too. You knew it Elisa that I'm always by your side.

Elisa: Thank you for selling the house on the market. It helps me a lot. I really appreciate it. At last, I can travel the whole world now.

Veronica: Good night Elisa.

Elisa: Good night Tita Veronica.

Veronica immediately dropped the call.

Veronica: What a piece of cake to manipulate her.

Ronaldo: So, where's the house?

Veronica: Well, it's the only log cabin house along San Narciso St. in Santa Barbara.

Rogelio: So, what are we waiting for? Let's go!

After taking the call from Veronica, Elisa saw Daisy staring at the photo of her father. Then, she moved towards Daisy.

Daisy: I remembered his smile.

Daisy is referring to Atty. Cruz's photo in the cabin house.

Elisa: Yeah, that's the only beautiful smile I've ever seen. But you know what, when he was still alive, I've never seen it personally on his face. I became disobedient to my father and did not listen to his guidance. All I gave to him were pain and headaches and for not showing how I loved him as my father.

Elisa begins to cry again.

Elisa: Now he's gone, I just felt like I was regretting the past for all the sins I had committed against him.

Daisy: Elisa, you are not alone in this regret. This time, be brave in the midst of sadness, because that's what our lives are, bravery is measured only when we lose one of our loved ones.

Elisa: Before you leave, I just want to tell you something, Daisy.

Daisy: I'm all ears.

Elisa: I'll take the moving forward path. I want to travel the whole world and find the new me.

Daisy: I'm happy to hear that.

Elisa: Thank you, Daisy.

Daisy embraced her warmly.

Genesis is drunk while driving on his way home from the bar. Genesis drank a lot for some reason that Daisy lives with another man in her house.

While thinking deeply about Daisy, he suddenly remembered his best friend, Magda Soliman. Every time he remembers Magda, he remembers pain too. He remembers how he was failed to protect his best friend from his family. That was his mistake that he will regret for the rest of his life.

He stops the car and becomes more emotional. He cries like his heart was stabbed a hundred times.

Gen: I'm sorry, Magda. I'm really sorry.

Genesis is even blaming himself for what happened with his ex-best friend.

Meanwhile, Giovanni is sitting on his bed and looking at his picture together with Magda. While staring at the photo, he remembers how they were happy together before, something that makes him smile. But he has something to regret about himself, that he didn't admit he loved Magda.

Suddenly, he began to cry while recalling the sad thing that had happened in Magda's life.

Giovanni is also blaming himself as he was unable to protect Magda from exploitative people.

Giovanni: Even if you are in heaven, Magda, I still love you and I will always remember and love you.

Giovanni kissed Magda on the photo.

At the same time, when Daisy got into her car,

Daisy: Regrets are unforgettable, it's a feeling of a never-ending sadness and disappointments. But what is the value of sadness when your loved ones are gone? What is the purpose of regret when it's over and too late? They won't hear you crying, they won't hear you apologizing for the mistakes you've made and for the chances you didn't take. Regret is just a form of punishing yourself. Still, regret has a function of survival and its door is always open of letting it go and of finding your lost soul.

These were the words that came to her mind as she pondered in the car.
