CHAPTER 2The Sportsman’s Grill seemed a fairly popular restaurant; there were already a number of people seated and having breakfast when he entered it. Most of them were talking animatedly and the room buzzed with the conversations.
“Always this busy for breakfast?” he asked the young waitress who presented him a cup of coffee, a menu and a warm smile.
“Sometimes. This is a little more than usual. There’s a funeral this morning, someone who was well-known around here.”
Frank nodded. “That is in fact why I’m here. Everybody seems pretty excited about something, is that because of the funeral?”
“No, probably the big explosion and fire last night. The word got out about that early this morning.”
Frank recalled the sirens from the evening before. “Big fire, then? Anybody hurt?”
