"Hey Derek, it's Tim. I am going to have to reschedule our meeting." "Yeah I was talking to Doug, he's been keeping me in the loop. It's about that girl huh? Any updates about her yet?" "Nothing yet, I just showed her to her room. Listen, also if a name Emily comes up in your area that's missing give me a call?" "Sure can. So be honest, did you and Doug really find her in the river half dead?" "More like 90% dead but yeah. Thankfully shes a werewolf also because if she was human, we would have found a corpse." "Jesus dude. Hey i gotta go, I'll call you in a couple days. Let me know how it goes with Emily." They both hang up and Tim heads upstairs to check on Emily. He knock on her door and when she doesn't answer, he slowly opens the door and sees shes out on the balcony enjoying the view. He walks up behind her, "it us beautiful isn't it?" Emily let's out a yelp and turns to Tim terrified. "Hey hey it's me you're fine!" He assures her. "Don't sneak up on me.... Please." She muttered in a somewhat am very voice. What Tim did triggered a flash back of Tyler's friends breaking through the door and beating the living s**t out of her. Tim, confused with what just happened couldn't help but ask, "I think you know more then what you share. Care to explain what the hell that was?" Emily looked up at him with a blank expression, "You just scared me that's all." Tim folded his arms, "there's scared and then there is down right terrified, which you were. Spill it, what's going on?" Emily didn't say a word. She just looked at him. Tim closed his eyes and let out a defeated sigh, "fine you'll tell me when you're ready I guess. I'm gonna make lunch, want anything?" She shakes her head no, then turns around to look outside again. After Tim shuts the door behind him, Mist starts complaining. "What was that? He was being nice. No need to be a b***h to him, he wasn't the one who nearly killed you." Emily groans out loud, "Just shut up, leave me the hell alone if you're not going to stop bringing that s**t up. I don't care if he was trying to be nice. I don't trust him or his wanna be parents." Mist them chuckles pissed off, blown away that Emily said that about the people who saved her, stood by her side since day one, and opened their home too her like they known her for years and not a couple of weeks. "The day I was nearly killed for something I had zero control over, it killed something in me that I am not sure will ever come back. Honestly, I don't think I want it too. Mist, I have bent over backwards for people who hated me, even dad since he hasn't even tried looking for me. I don't trust anyone anymore and if you can't take it, then just piss off." Before Mist could even reply to that, Emily blocked her out. Doug and Heidi were at the Mommas Kitchen Diner having a good talk. "That Emily sure is a beauty. Think Tim will try?" Heidi asked before sipping her coffee. "I am not sure. I mean, he has talked about settling down but with his destined mate, not someone we pulled out of the river. Yeah she is pretty, but there's more to her then what meets the eye. I can't figure it out yet." Doug explains after swallowing his bite of toast. They sat in silence for a minute when Heidi brings up an old memory that will always haunt them, "It seems just like yesterday when we lost Jack and Lily. That poor boy screaming when we had to tell him. Life isn't fair. Poor Tim becoming an orphan pup so young, that poor girl with whatever shes dealing with, my cancer." Doug instantly soothes her. He takes her hand, gives her the loving look, "we will get through this. One way or another." She smiles but not in a happy way, "I'm to old for chemo, Rose is starting to suffer from it now so she can't heal me any longer, we keep hiding it from Timmy, I can't help it dear." Doug starts to tear up. "Im not ready to mourn sweet heart. That day will come even if cancer isn't what takes you. Please, try and enjoy what time we have left together. I'm not ready. Not today. As for Tim, he knows you are sick yeah it is more serious then what we are telling him, but you are like his other mother and I don't know how he will take it. Please don't give in so soon my dear." They hold each others hands losing themselves in each others eyes. Tim decided to make some basic grilled cheese for him and Emily. After a few sandwiches were made, he took them up to Emily's room himself. He walks in thinking she is on the balcony still, but she was taking a nap on the bed. When he shut the door, Emily got right up and sat on the bed. "That was a d**k move." Mist calles out Emily. Emily rolled hee eyes at Mist's comment. Emily just sat there then she started crying. Her being brutally beaten into a coma, her dad not searching for her, being at a strangers home is finally sinking in. "Im out of school for not even a full month and I lost my mate, almost died because of him, I lost my home, my dad apparently doesn't care, I wish I didn't wake up Mist. I should be getting ready to start my life with the mate I was destined too, but he didn't want me, Why would life do that too me? I could be starting college or working full time but no, I'm here at some house scared and angry with everyone. I wish I would of rejected Tyler first, maybe he would of left me alone afterwords so I would still be at home. Mist, what am I going to do?" Emily sinks her head in the pillow and sobs. "I...want...to...be..good...enough for...someone!" She said in each sob. Mist agreed with every word. Where was her dad? Any parent would do anything to look for their pup, websites, missing posters, making radio announcements anything other then nothing. Mist is letting Emily cry. She knows Emily needs it. Doug and Heidi walk in laughing together holding hands like they're some high school couple. Tim was cleaning up after making lunch and smiled at them. "Good afternoon Timmy dear!" Heidi gives Tim a peck on the forehead. "How's our new little house guest? Has she said anything else about what happened?" Doug asked while taking Heidi's jacket off of her. "No not yet, she's napping right now. Plus with her attitude I'll ask tomorrow. She might be exhausted and I'm not poking that bear." Just as soon as he finished that statement, they all see Emily slowly walking down the stairs. They all stare at each other. Emily sits on the last stool and just sits down playing with her fingers. Tim and Doug just look at her, Heidi stands up and starts getting Emily a glass of homemade lemonade. "Now dear, how are you feeling? Do you like the room?" Emily looks up at Heidi and sees the staring faces. "It's perfect, thank you." Emily muttered while holding onto her cup. Tim leans on the counter and clears this throat, "So I have to go into town today, wanna ride? We can pick up some stuff that you'll eat." Emily looks up at Tim who is giving her the one eye brow raised look. "Yes please."
