Presently, after more than a month of successfully completing several expeditions and quests given by King Remus, King of Komina, the Heroes of the Forest of Illusion had been promoted from the rank of a Knight to the rank of a Knight Elite and are now commencing their intensive training under Grand Duke Marchog, the King’s younger brother, a Master Swordsman and Komina’s strongest warrior to further enhance their combat capabilities. ______________________________ Sacred Light [Active|Special] Cult of Illusion’s Ultimate Spirit Technique, Sacred Light. They already knew how great the Sacred Light, considering that it’s a reward from an Event Quest. However…“But isn’t Grand Duke-teacher a Master Swordsman? With your decades of combat experiences, surely you’re in possession of several skills with the same degree as our Sacred Light.” Marchog shook his head. “No, not exactly.” And then began to explain. According to his explanation, Magic and Skills also has their own Class System where the Higher Ranks are naturally stronger and rarer compared to the lower ranked. Moreover, they also possess great and unlimited potentials for either evolution or creation of new skills once they are honed. And though wielding these high ranked skills doesn’t automatically make anyone superior compared to the rest, considering that when it comes to the tier of power there are always numerous aspects and factors that are permanently involved, possessing one High Rank undoubtedly still gave a clear and recognizable advantage. In other words, despite the five of them being only within the Levels of 101 to 108, each of them can be capable of defeating monsters and even players of Level 200 and higher if they can properly utilize the benefits provided by the High Rank skill. Knowing that, Deidre and the others smiled and their eyes lit up with greater interest. “The Sacred Light that the five of you held is a Rank A Skill,” Marchog revealed. “And if my memory still serves me right, currently, among the disclosed magic and skills in the entire continents there are only 20 that are within Rank A, seven that are within Rank S, and 2 on Rank SS. That’s how rare they are. And unfortunately, I possess neither one of those. I simply rely on my own strength and utilize to the fullest whatever it is that I have, which are apparently what I am going impart to all of you during the entire course of this training.” The Five Heroes nodded. Even without directly hearing it from him, they’d already understood what the Grand Duke is aiming to imply. The Sacred Light is an opportunity, not a luxury. Regardless of how great or how powerful it is, it will become useless if they cannot properly utilize it or if they are too weak to have it. They had followed a great man in the past. And that man had indirectly imparted this way of thinking towards them. And if they truly desire that he will someday recognize their existence then they have to grow stronger, strong to the point that they’ll be capable of shaking this world to its core. Then Basche suddenly sighed. “I wish Gambit is still with us,” he said. “It could have been great if the 6 of us had remained together, progressed together, until the day that we reunite with Brother Grimm.” “It can’t be helped Basche,” said Trevol. “He had made a resolve that he wishes to take a different path from ours.” Oh yeah, it had almost slipped Deidre’s mind. They’re a man short now. The originally Six Heroes are now just Five. _________ After the completion of the Event Quest and the mysterious disappearance of both Grimm and the Forest of Illusion, King Remus of Komina had requested for their presence, an invitation that all six of them had obliged. And upon meeting him, His Majesty had offered them a rank into his army along with a Class Change proposal. ______________________________ Class Change [Kingdom Exclusive] Centurion In the army infantry of Komina, the Centurion is a Commander Class who specializes in Battle Formations, which other combatants can join, providing several beneficial effects. A Centurion grows stronger as the size of his legion increases. During battles, each soldier under the Centurion’s command will grant various Stat bonuses which might expand depending on how proficient the Centurion’s leadership and battle formation skills. The army infantry that the Centurion leads is the Century, an army troop that contains 200 up to 1,000 men, a number which could increase twice or three times if the Centurion has a higher Knight Rank. ______________________________ An offer and a Class Change proposal that were presenting prestige, power, and wealth, privileges that are beyond their current strength and levels deserves. So of course, with those things at bay, everyone accepted the magnificent offer. Everyone except Gambit. “Forgive me Your Majesty, but I have to refuse.” “Oi Gambit, what do you think you’re doing?” Trevol asked in an almost enraged tone. “This is a rare opportunity, why are you turning it down?” “If I accept, it would mean that I will have to stay in Komina and serve under the authority of the King for probably the rest of my life. Well, that’s great and all but staying here is not something that I wish for myself.” “W-whoa wait, Gambit. Don’t tell me…don’t tell me that you’re going to leave.” Gambit looked down and hesitantly nodded. “I was about to tell you guys about it but we were unexpectedly summoned here. But yeah, I’m leaving to go on a journey.” “But why?” Basche asked this time. “Why do you want to leave? Didn’t we make a promise that we will all grow stronger? So that one day, Brother Grimm will acknowledge us.” “I’m still gonna fulfil that, man. It’s just that, being a Hero and this Centurion job,” he shook his head. “It’s not my thing. If I wanna succeed in pursuing Grimm, then I’ll have to do it in my own terms and by doing what I’m best at. Unfortunately, staying here won’t give me that.” “But…” “Don’t worry, man. We will surely meet each other again,” he said. “I might be taking a different path but we’re all heading the same direction. One way or another, our paths will surely cross in the future.” After that exchange, Gambit pays his reverence to the King and said his goodbyes to them before walking out of the castle. The King, though brokenhearted of Gambit’s decision, admired his unyielding resolve and grants him a few aids which will be beneficial for his upcoming journey. With that, it was the last time that they’d seen and heard a thing about him. _________ “I just hope that he’s doing okay.” “Oh worry not about that,” Trevol said with voice of reassurance. “He’s Gambit. Before Grimm revealed his true power, he was the strongest among us. So there’s no point of worrying about him, he can handle himself. Instead, you should think about getting stronger so you won’t be left out by them.” “Yeah, I guess you’re right.” “Pardon me for my intrusion,” Marchog inserted, joining Trevol and Basche’s conversation. “I just couldn’t help not joining. I had heard a lot of wonderful things about the Seventh Hero, and the five of you also speaks his name often. I’m utterly intrigued of what kind of a person Sir Grimm truly is from the people that personally knew him and I am hoping that one of you can enlighten me.” And as he requested, the two especially Basche said a lot of things about Grimm. Some are concrete facts while some are Basche’s fanatical exaggeration but nonetheless, they are statements that perfectly define the man that leads them to victory against Amradias. However, there’s an specific statement that completely caught the Grand Duke’s attention. “He has the Phantasmal Blade, the other Sacred Art of the Cult of Illusion aside from the Sacred Light.” “Can you tell me more about this…Phantasmal Blade?” Marchog tried to appear discrete upon asking that question but it’s undeniable that he’s utterly itching to uncover yet another Rank A skill. “It’s a sword technique meant for pure offense,” Trevol said. “Even at its base stage, it can already multiply its user’s attacking damage for up to five times. And the scarier part, that damage is unavoidable. So even in the hands of a complete amateur, it’s a very destructive sword skill. However, its only possessor is a combat genius, a complete freak of nature. So it’s no exaggeration to say that the combination of Grimm’s talent and the Phantasmal Blade’s power literally makes him the ideal vanguard.” “Oww,” Marchog’s eyes lit up even brighter. “Interesting, truly interesting. Now, I’m more enthralled into meeting him.” The next day, unknown to the Heroes undergoing the intensive training, the effort and resources deployed by the Kingdom of Komina in finding the Seventh Hero significantly intensified.
