A year passed with Ethan and Lilac working together and the farm prospered even more so with a extra hand helping. Ethan loved his new home he thought Lilac was amazing, she worked hard and knew chores outside and inside, cooked well, and could scare off guys sometimes with words and a few times with her father's shotgun and she even started giving him a allowance! which he was saving in a jar she gave him that he kept in a drawer in his room. She gave him her brothers room and told Ethan all about her family and how much they loved each other, Ethan began to feel like he was Aiden, brought to Lilac to heal her heart after such terrible losses. It was a autumn morning and Lilac was preparing the wagon she wanted to introduce Ethan to king James as her helper just like her father did for her, Ethan was not entirely enthusiastic about it but he couldn't deny Lilac's request after everything she had done for him. Lilac climbs up into the driver seat and thinks back to the day she got into the wagon with her father..her mothers words..Lilac is staring at the sky when Ethan climbs up beside her and interupts her thoughts "all ready to go miss Lilac, are you ok?", Lilac wipes her eyes and smiles at him and asks the horses to get a move on "all good here". They both arrive at the palace and get help to unload, Lilac holds Ethans hands and smiles at him as they walk into the meeting hall. Ethan looks around amazed he is even there and they wait at the stairs looking up at the thrones. A maid comes over and tells them the emperor will be here shortly. They both wait awhile than a man walking hastly walks in with a flowing cape and sits down "I have no time for this! but Hansly has insisted what can I do for you?!" Lilac flinches and both bow. "Hello your majesty we have brought you the finest provisions from the watcher family farm". The man sits up with interest "watcher? their not all dead are they not?" Lilac's heart hurts but she nods "My father, mother, and brother passed on but I was left I have been running the farm your majesty with my helper Ethan" she puts a hand on his shoulder and smiles at him. "This is your child? no husband no marriage". "No your majesty just my farm and my helper no child no marriage" Lilac looks down uncertain about the emperors attitude compared to when she was a child. The man walks off his throne and puts his fingers under her chin and lifts it "Lilac its me Onyx" his blue eyes pierce her green ones. "Onyx?! its you oh wow its been years now look at you! like a true king". He smiles and flips his cape "not like I am the king suits me does it not? come just as my father before me tea" he clap his hands and tea is brought by a maid as they sit at the same table they did years ago. "I am sorry to hear about your family must have been awful" Lilac nods and takes a sip of her tea "it was thank you". It goes silent for a moment than Onyx stands up "lets go for a walk let me show you the kingdom and perhaps a treat for Ethan, you will be my guests tonight and will stay here". Lilac hesitates "I think we should get back to the farm we have work to do i'm sorry your majesty". Onyx stops in place "you will stay here tonight I demand it!" he turns around "do you wish to disobey your king?!". Lilac stands there shocked but keeps a prideful stance and looks at him "No I do not your majesty excuse me please dont scare my boy though", Onyx looks at Ethan hiding behind Lilac now. Onyx looks Lilac in the eyes and grunts than turns around with his cape flowing "follow me now than". Lilac doesn't move for a minute and stares at Onyx walking away "what on earth happened to this man, he is cold and heartless as they say" she takes Ethan's hand and follows after their emperor.
