CHAPTER 20: The Echoes Resolved

762 Words
The sanctuary had gone, nothing has fallen other than the scattered remains of the energy echo and the crystal. The forest was still once again a bath in golden lights which was very low to reduce heaviness in the heart of Clara Grey. The crystalline ball became inactive in her hands, its once-fierce glow reduced to an unconscious flicker. Nevertheless, its weight felt unchanged - the disordered, unlocked, and filled with endless possibilities. Clara looked at Ivan Hale, who was standing near him in a quiet thinking. Injuries and cuts on his face told a story of flexibility and sacrifice, one that reflected him. "It has been done," he mumbled, his voice is barely audio. "But it does not feel like an end." Evan turned to him, his expression was still firm. "It never does, Clara. Each end is just the beginning of something new." The transformed meadow spread in front of them, its vibrant hues are almost real against the background of the old world. Clara cannot help, but she feels unnecessarily because she saw in the scenario. It was as if the shells resumed reality, merged the past and the future completely unfamiliar. "We need to move," Ivan said, his voice is cutting through his thoughts. "No one else is telling what else has changed ... or who can be out." Clara nodded, holding the area tightly, as he started his journey in the meadow. Whispering that during his discovery he was plagued, replaced with a silence that felt heavier than any sound. Nevertheless, Clara knew that his journey was not really finished - there were still mystery to reveal in the area, and the option to demand. Their path through the meadow was both beautiful and unstable. The wind was hot, filled with the smell of blooming flowers and unconscious attacks of energy. But below the surface, there was an undisputed tension - a feeling that the world was stopping its breath, waiting for something to happen. When they walked, Clara and Ivan faced others- people who were caught in the change of shells. Some were jubilant, surprised at the beauty of their surroundings and its chances representing it. Others were frightened, struggling to cover changes with their memories of the old world. Clara heard her stories, where she could give rest. But for every person whom he assured, there were ten more who saw him with uncertainty and doubt. The weight of his expectations was buried on him, threatening to overwhelm his resolve. Evan focused on his growing tiredness and put his hand on his shoulder. "You are not alone," he said firmly. "We are a team, remember?" Clara managed an unconscious smile for her unwavering support. "I know thanks." The chapters turn into emotional conflicts of Clara and Ivan as they struggle with the results of their actions. They reflect on the sacrifices they have done, the people they have lost, and the heritage they have inherited from Isala Durham. Clara Pors, once again on Isla's diary, discovers guidance in the words of the woman. She finds that she was not seen before that passengers - when Isla had admissions written during the most dark moments, when doubt and fear threatened her to consume. But in those words, Clara also gets hope - a reminder who, even in front of uncertainty, make an option. "Do you think Isla ever regrets her choice?" Clara asks that she closes the diary. "I think she regrets some things that she had to do," Evan replies. "But I don't think she ever stopped believing what she was fighting for." Clara nodded, draws strength from their words. "Then we either cannot stop believing." The climax of the chapter comes in the form of Clara and Ivan, which reaches the edge of the meadow, where their old world remains collide with new. A huge crowd has gathered, which is drawn with the power and hope or fear of the shells - it represents. Among them are the familiar faces: associates who fought with Clara and Evan, as well as enemies who have consistently followed them. Along with stress -the crowd turns to face the crowd, their eyes are fixed on the shells. Clara feels that the weight of his expectations threatens to suppress him, threatening to crush his resolve. But Evan moves forward, his voice bites through silence. "It's not only about the area," he says while addressing the crowd. "This is about all of us. Now the option we make will shape the future - not only for ourselves, but for all."
